ASUS B850-I ROG STRIX GAMING WIFI Freeze issues

I have an issue with my ASUS B850-I ROG Strix Gaming WiFi motherboard. When attempting to install Windows 11, the system freezes or hangs during driver initialization, which is quite frustrating.

I then tried installing Windows 10, and the installation was successful. However, the system froze again while searching for drivers. After restarting, I disabled the integrated GPU, and the PC started working normally.

Unfortunately, the problem didn't end there. When I tried to shut down the system, it froze again, forcing me to hold power button to turn it off.

My system specifications:

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • RAM: T CREATE 32 GB
  • PSU: 750W 80+ Platinum
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3050

Hello @msaddad

Thank you for reaching out to us.
Could you confirm whether the USB drive used for the driver installation is formatted as FAT32 and has a capacity of at least 8GB?
In addition to updating the BIOS to the latest version, we recommend clearing CMOS and then following the steps outlined in [Motherboard] How to install Windows 11? to attempt the Windows 11 installation again.
Additionally, since the Ryzen 7 9800X3D supports integrated graphics, if your installation process is potentially affected by the presence of a discrete GPU or its drivers, you may consider removing the GPU and using the integrated graphics instead.

Thank you.

I recently tried your suggestion by updating the BIOS to the latest version, removing the GPU, and performing a clean install of Windows, but the system still experiences freezing and hanging issues.

First, I reset the BIOS to its default settings and proceeded with a clean installation of Windows 11. The initial stages went smoothly, but problems arose when I deleted the SSD partition to make it unallocated space. After force restarting to continue the installation, the partition was successfully deleted. However, when I attempted to delete another partition, the issue recurred. I repeated the force restart process until the disk was entirely unallocated.

After that, the installation completed successfully, and I reached the Windows 11 desktop. However, now, whenever I shut down the system, it freezes again. As a result, I have to hold the power button to forcefully turn it off every time.
