ArmourySocketServer.exe crashes

Since September 28th, 2024, 11:26 a.m., I've found several of these messages in the Windows 11 reliability history.

They appear every time I start my PC after a while.

It's always the same error:

I have no idea what's going on again.
ArmouryCrate works, but these error messages are really annoying.
I haven't changed anything on my PC.

I just downloaded Armoury Crate updates yesterday, which were displayed:

I'll keep an eye on it, but I think it's Asus' fault that no connection can be established through this service, even though there is internet access.
I've never had this error before.

ArmourySocketServer.exe is also running according to the task scheduler:

I have no idea what is causing this error since yesterday.

The error already appeared with UEFI/Bios 2503 yesterday and also after the update to UEFI/Bios 2602 BETA on September 28, 2024, 1:04 p.m.
So it is not the UEFI of the mainboard.

Nope. No other issues so far. Only the fact that ArmourySocketServer.exe crashes when i shut down the computer.

Just like the OP.

Nothing else besides that. It runs fine and i can make adjustments without issue. Be it RGB, fans speeds etc.

Whatever update we got on the 28th? It's clearly the cause of it.

I am on Windows 23H2, build 22631.4169. I avoid betas/previews. Latest, public version as far as i know.

My Bios is still on 1611. I'll update it once Intel has actually figured their BS out. I don't think i need to elaborate on their Raptor Lake scandal. I am using the Default settings. Stock speeds.

Specs:

I am facing the same issue as well. Win 11 23H2 64bit. The last update of AC is at fault. I am also using icue corsair and armoury crate together. I own a ROG STRIX X570F GAMING MOBO. Since latest update of AC, I was not facing these 2 problems: a) armoury socket server crashes at every shutdown and the second one B) lights of MOBO header do not turn off after shutting PC down. I noticed that happening after reinstalling AC (using the uninstall tool of course from MY MOBO site)... Till now I have installed and reinstalled AC many times, I have already changed BIOS settings many times (save and reset) to stealth mode but every time my PC starts this feature in AC app of the shutdown basic effect off is not saved, CHANGING the bios setting automatically itself from stealth to aura only and the same thing happens to socket server that always crashes...so the problem is clearly AC itself... what is going on with these 2 bugs? I did not have these problems before uninstalling it. Especially the first one where the shutdown basic effect is not saved and turn itself on every time I restart the app...As for the second one it was firstly shown after your new updates.. I have also reset the app of AC and made a clean boot to my PC and full shutdown it as well...So the lesson here is ever and never do not uninstall AC after PC formatting? Are you serious?

and as for ICue, after installing and reinstalling it together with AC, i am now facing another bug with murals that consume 4% CPU which was not happening before all that installations-uninstallations.... for the time being i have to turn them off as a temp solution...

Thank you for reaching out to us. Regarding the first issue, we are reporting and further investigating it.
As for the second issue, where the RGB lighting remains on after shutdown since the latest Armoury Crate update, could you clarify if this is happening with external devices connected via the motherboard headers or if it's the motherboard's RGB lighting itself?
We recommend referring to the guide in [Motherboard] How to turn off the AURA lighting effect of the MB/AIO water cooling/ROG keyboard and ..., which provides setup instructions for specific devices.
If needed, you can also refer to my previous reply to provide further details of your current usage scenario for both issues to help us better understand the problem.

- The screenshot of the Armoruy Crate update center
- The BIOS version and the content of the settings in the BIOS (or whether it is the default)
- The brand and model name of the CPU, DRAM, GPU, and PSU currently installed
- The OS version and OS build
-  Please record and provide the relevant logs for us to verify further by referring to "Q5: What is App Diagnostics? (New Feature)" and ensure that you have checked the "Record Log" option before proceeding with the steps to replicate the issue.

Regarding the high CPU usage of iCUE, we recommend that you contact the application service provider for further version or issue confirmation.

Hello Sir. I Have always my mouse and microsoft keyboard via usb connected to my Tower behind where my mobo is placed.. their place is near my ROG STRIX X570-F GAMING (I am not sure if this place is on the MOBO)...I also have BIOS 5013 from my mobo site and everything updated regarding this site (cheapset etc).. I have win 11 23h2, nvidia 3080, AMD ryzen 5800x, corsair vengeance RGB rams 32gb (2 sticks of 16gb) and PSU cooler master MWE v2 850W.. this is the first time after many formats to my PC (in 5 years that I own it) that I am facing a problem like that.. reinstalling does not solve these two problems (socket server crash and not saving shutdown basic effects to off as well). AC alters itself bios setting onboard from stealth mode/aura off to aura only, every time I reboot my PC or every time I close the app to immediately reopen it.. I have already put it to off regarding the tab shutdown basic effects (in the devices tab motherboard) but the app persists to change it in bios and in the app itself as well...  I have already told you that I did not face these 2 problems before reinstalling AC (via uninstall tool), icue (via apps and features) and NVIDIA (via DDU)... So the lesson here is never uninstall AC  and icue after PC formatting.. and the most interesting is that you have new BIOS beta version: Resolved CPU exception when adjusting items like ""When system is in sleep, hibernate, or soft off states"" in certain languages...Something that may resolve my issue.. its a shame in  2024 to face such problems.

Just like you I had to reinstall AC because it wouldn't update a few days ago, and now I'm experiencing the same exact issues you're having, with the single exception that I don't have Icue. I must confess after almost 4 years of back and forth with this software I'm reaching my breaking point... but oh well maybe and just maybe they will fix it who knows.... I'm not formatting my pc again.

I have run into a new error.

I had to install the newest GPU driver and restart the system couple of times because i like to use DDU to clean up leftover files just to make sure.

Restarting the system gives me no errors. However, i noticed a new error today in my Reliability History that occurred during last nights shut down of the system.
