Armory Crate causing 0d error on restart

rafaelmaiach

Hello, i got a new pc build, I'll send the specs below.

I started facing the 0d error only when i restart the computer and after some tests and formats, I may have found the possible cause for it.

When i did a fresh system install, i could install some drivers and windows update and restart the machine without any issue but, when i installed the full version of armory crate, every time i restart the computer i get the 0d error and, one of my memory stick gets the rgb lights off.

I have the bios in version 2007

Motherboard x670e-e gaming wifi

Asus 4080 super rog strix

Kingston 2x 32gb fury beast memory ram 5600mhz

Ryzen 9 7900x3d

I already tried 1 or 2 memory stick and also changing the place for the memories. Only booted on a2 b2.

I'm waiting a new pack of memories to arrive to do a new test but i wanted to post this here because the system started showing 0d error immediate after installing armory crate full

I disabled my Matrix LED and OLED display since I can not configure them without armoury crate.
on the latest BIOS versions the mini OLED is completely broken and AC is a must have to configure it.
But I prefer a stable system over the working displays.

Right now I use OpenRGB to set the MB and DRAM RGB

I can confirm it.
It seems like that Armoury Crate is indeed the cause for these many 0d errors on a system restart.
I decided to do a fresh Win 11 install without Armoury Crate... everything is running fine.
Created a backup of my system with Acronis
Then I installed AC and directly had my first 0d error on reboot

I restored my backup without AC and the system is running fine again. several reboots without a single issue.

Sad to know that AC is causing this to more people. At least this can indicate i can just uninstall it and I'll have no issue anymore. I saw on some forums that iCUE has a plug-in for Asus mobo. I'll give it a try because i just wanna it to control rgb stuff. Drivers i can download standalone. No need to have AC, as it's just getting errors.

Thank you Sonic! I'll check this OpenRGB. Next step uninstall AC 😂

Sad that I returned my memory before thinking about the software issue. But the new one should arrive on Monday and I'll be able to have my pc fully functional and stable.

I hope new versions of AC fix this issue.

Hello @rafaelmaiach

Based on your description, is the issue of not being able to boot and encountering Q-code "0d" occurring only after installing Armoury Crate?
When encountering the "0d" and being unable to boot, what troubleshooting steps have you taken to regain access to the OS?
After installing Armoury Crate, did you ensure that all items in the Armoury Crate update center were fully updated?
If the problem persists after using the uninstall tool to remove and then reinstall Armoury Crate, could you help by recording and providing the relevant logs for further verification?
For log operation steps, please refer to "Q5: What is App Diagnostics? (New Feature)" and ensure that you have confirmed and checked the "Record Log" option before proceeding with the steps to replicate the issue, such as logs recorded before starting manual adjustments in Armoury Crate, followed by shutdown and restart, resulting in the "0d" error.
And kindly record a video simultaneously and provide it to us, allowing us to better correlate the log with the actual scenario.
After recording the log, please upload it to the cloud, approve access, and PM me the link.

Meanwhile, please share the requested information below as well.
- the image of the BIOS main page and the content of the setting in BIOS
- the brand and model name of the PSU currently installed, as well as the part number of the RAM
- the OS version and OS build
Please help compile the above information and I will forward it to the relevant departments for further investigation.

Thank you.

@Jiaszzz_ROG I'll try to describe better. But I don't have the AC installed anymore because installing it causes the 0d error and I need to use the computer.

About the RAM I used, the first build was using Kingston then I replace for Corsair, on both I got the 0d error after installing the AC.

Kingston: KF556C36BBEAK2-64
Corsair: CMH64GX5M2B5200C40

PSU: Asus ROG Thor 1200W 90YE00L0-B0BA00

About when the 0d error happen: it only happened after installing Armory Crate and restarting the computer. I never had issues with boot or during usage. It was strict to restarting the computer.

Something I found today: I had AC completely removed using the Asus Uninstaller. Then, I downloaded the Aura Sync standalone to only control the RGB. After installing the Aura Sync standalone, I got the 0d error too. So, I don't know if the issue is the AC, or the Aura Sync (that is installed with the AC). Maybe both. I dont know.

When I installed the AC (the first time), I had everything updated.

BIOS: Version 2007 but it also happened on Version 1807

Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 23H2
OS build 22631.3880
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1020.0

Do you need the record log / video yet? I'll need time to prepare it, as it will make my system have the error when restarting.

Hello @rafaelmaiach ,

Thank you for the quick update on the scenario.
Since this situation involves Armoury Crate software, we will need logs and videos to further investigate the issue, including confirming your Aura Sync settings, setup paths and steps, update center versions and items, etc. to further replicate and verify the problem.
Please share the above detailed information at your convenience.

Thank you.
