Hi,
I have bought a Ryzen 7 5800X3D last november to put on a G15DK motherboard (pre-buit computer GA15). The CPU is working fine, but i've noticed that the clock is always locked at base speed, 3.4GHZ. i've been reading a lot lately and most people where saying that a BIOS update was needed. Unfortunately, the last BIOs update, Version 303, was from January 2022.
I have been waiting a long time for an update and finaly, an update has been made available to Version 304 on 2023/07/28.
I did the update and was expecting that the CPU to be able to boost properly, but nothing changed.
I did some more reading and have noticed that from all the other motherboard, an update of the AMD Generic Encapsulated Software Architecture (AGESA) to version 1.2.0.6b and up was required in order to use the full power of the CPU. These new version normaly comes with the BIOs, but with the G15DK, the AGESA is still to version 1.2.0.4 and doesn't seems to be updated with the BIOS 304.
Is it possible to check this out and release a new BIOS with an updated AGESA? Or, is there any other option to unlock the BOOST frequency on the ryzen 7 5800X3D on these motherboards?
Thanks a lot for your help.

BIOS update 305 for G15DK seems released and available now, and it has AGESA ComboV2 version 1208.

I own 4 of these computers. Bios 303 worked with the 5800x3d but no boost. 304 works, but still the cpu does not boost.
The 304 bios is sitll from 2022. So technically they have not released a bios that properly supports the 5800x3d.
In the future, I wont buy any asus pre-builds. It is better to purchase a consumer motherboard as there is guaranteed bios updates and better support.
Yes same at 3.4Ghz.

During the bios updated to 304, upon bootup it says the bios is from September 2022.
So they are pushing out an old bios.

I know the bios says July 28th 2023, but during update when booting up, it says Sept 2022. So the bios is 1 year old.

yeah same thing for me. The BIOS as been released on July 2023 but when you check in the bios screen, the date of the bios is September 29th 2022. Like they forgot to release that BIOS back then and they just released it almost one year later

Doesn't that make you made when you pay over $2000 for a pc that cant be upgraded? My pc was $2500 😞
Pretty much Everyone gets to upgrade for 5800x3d for gaming, but, on a gaming pc, asus decides not not update a bios, in order to use a gaming cpu, that everyone of their other motherboards support. a bit ironic since this pc was not cheap. On reddit their was a big announcement about the bios update for all boards to support 5800x3d. People who asked about the ga15d, were told its a different department and we are out of luck.
I am not sure why asus wants to cheat people, especially those that paid top dollars.

Hello, @menza666
Regarding the gaming desktop, please be aware that if you self-disassemble or change hardware configurations on your own, it may result in voiding the warranty.
As for further information related to BIOS updates, we recommend that you stay tuned to the releases provided on the ROG Strix GA15 G15 official website.
Thank you.

It is a cpu. not rocket science. This is not like the case of intel motherboard were or threadrippers were the pins are on the board and not the cpu, and the boards are super easy to damage.
I own a computer store, as well as 3 online stores. I never had a problem with *cpu* upgrades. You statement gives another reason to not buy *overpriced* asus prebuilds, but rather instead build a pc with an asus motherboard instead that doesnt have such limitations if they do exist.
Asus should not use warranty as an excuse for not properly supporting their produces and offering an inferior product.
When you pay top dollar for a machine, you expect a well supported system.

Hello @Jiaszzz_ROG
Thanks for the answer. Just so you know, the warranty of the computer was already expired when I did the CPU upgrade in the computer. Your answer doesn't answer the issue at hand. the link you provided is the one I keep following to check for update, but as i mentionned in my post, it seems ASUS doesn't care much from their pre-builds motherboard, like you think the ones who buy them will never open the computer case.
I'm only asking if ASUs is planning to upgrade the AMD Generic Encapsulated Software Architecture (AGESA) to version 1.2.0.6b or up like all your motherboards with a B550 Chipset.

Hello, @menza666
Upon verification, we anticipate releasing the G15DK BIOS update with AGESA updates by September.
The timing of releases on official websites may differ across various countries or regions, usually with a time gap of 24 to 48 hours, and this is the reason we suggest you keep an eye on the official website for updates.
Regarding the self-replacement of the CPU, as this pertains to a desktop product, please be aware that we cannot guarantee software and hardware compatibility for any self-replaced hardware.
Thank you.
