128GB RAM Help Needed for ROG Maximus z790 Hero and Kingston Fury Beast 4x32GB

PhrozenCypher

I have a ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO and Kingston FURY Beast Black 128GB (4x32GB) 5200MT/s (KF552C40BBK4-128) RAM. I'm on latest BIOS firmware (2801). I am stuck on Q-LED code 55 with 4 sticks. This kit is on the supported memory list for 128GB ram with 4 sticks.

I can't get the system to boot with 4. I can get it to boot with 2. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: CPU is Intel Core i9 13900K

Hello @PhrozenCypher

Thank you for reaching out to us.
Due to the local holidays, our response time may be slightly delayed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

Could you please clarify if this issue occurred after the PC was first built or after using it for some time and occurred following any recent changes, such as a BIOS update or RAM replacement? When the system fails to pass POST and displays a Q-code, does the Q-LED indicator light up as well?
Based on your description, we recommend clearing CMOS and refraining from making any manual BIOS adjustments, including enabling XMP or Fast Boot. Please start by installing a single memory module in the DIMM_A2 slot and attempt to boot the system.

The first boot may take longer due to memory training. Once the system successfully passes POST, gradually install two and then four memory modules to confirm the results.
In addition to checking the memory, please also ensure there are no issues such as bent motherboard pins or improper installation, whether too loose or too tight.

Thank you.
