I updated the bios from 1103 to 1203 and I get stuck in a reboot loop. I can setup the AI OC profile for the CPU, remove all limits to 90 degrees on the CPU but if I use any XMP profile, XMP 1, XMP 2, or Tweaked XMP it shows code 62 on the motherboard and have to force it to load the last good settings I was using. I was using the 1101 bios since I got the motherboard and has worked using the tweaked XMP settings and full overclocking of the CPU with no issues.
I am using the ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme motherboard with the Intel Core 9 Utra 285K CPU with Corsair Vengeance DDR 5 64GB (2X32GB) 6800MHZ CL32 (CMK64GX5M2X6800C32) ram. One change I found is with the 1101 bios the speed in the bios did not show 6800 and shows as 6750 or 6770. Not sure of the exact number but it was not exactly 6800 in the bios. My guess is the new bios is using settings to match 6800 and needs to be downgraded to a lower setting to match the 1101 bios.

Hi @mshawaz
1. If experiencing memory instability, best to remove AI OC from the equation.

2. By being forced to use the last known good, are you referring to Safe Mode?
3. What tools did you verify memory stability on the previous build? (Karhu Ram Test, HCI Memtest Pro, etc)
4. Don't use old CMO profile.
5 Reduce DRAM Frequency to 6400-6600 and retest.

Before updating to 1203 I was using full overclocking settings for the CPU and ram which is the last known good settings I was using. When I updated to 1203 and starting failing, I tried all settings using XMP 1, XMP II, and Tweaked settings,. I also used the default settings for the CPU and the OC settings and confirmed that it fails no matter what XMP profile I use. I only updated the XMP profile with no other changes and it fails. Currenting I have it running with extreme performance and using AI to set all the settings for the CPU and ram set to manual and works with no issues. I will try settings the timings to 6400-6600 to see if that works.

I have tested the setting at 6000 - 6733 and found that I am only able to use any of the three XMP profiles using 6200 or slower with my ram. This includes overclocking the CPU enabled and disabled so it appears the ram will only work at 6200 and not at full speed of 6800.

"Phase 2" of Intel's firmware drops should be coming shortly. Mcode updates always have the chance of impacting OC, that's a given - but if you're still experiencing instability post-patch then report back.

Ok. I am keeping my settings at 6200 using the XMP Tweaked profile and also able to use the AI OC settings for the CPU with no issues. It has been running for about 12hrs with no issues. As new bios updates come out I will try the XMP profiles for the ram and downgrade them as needed if I still have issues and let you know if I am able to get the ram working using the XMP profiles.

I'm having the same exact issue as OP. No AI or CPU overclock, just XMP and I fail to post on 1203 Bios, but all previous revisions I was successful in turning on XMP and posting/booting to desktop. I am running the Corsair Dominator Titanium 2x32gb 6800 MT/s kit and on bios 1203 it just fails to post. Other Specs: Ultra 9 285k, Z890-a Strix MB. Any Ideas?
EDIT: I was only able to get it to post/work with XMP on at 6600 MT/s.

Looks like a bios issue. My ram is not on the approved list of ram. The max for the Corsair Vengeance CMK model number is 6000 and I am using 6800 that can only run at 6200. My guess is they need to make some changes in the bios firmware to handle the higher clock speeds of the ram.

This has been resolved for me. I updated the Bios to 1302 from 1203 and was able to overclock the CPU using the extreme setting, advanced OC settings instead of the default settings, and the XMP Tweaked profile with no issues. The only issue I found was while playing the new Indiana Jones The Great Circle would crash while playing which started using the 1203 Bios and the fix for it was to use INTEL EXTREME TUNING UTILITY. to set the Performance Tuning Ratio below 5Ghz. I set it to 49x instead of 54x and that issue was resolved.
