can i get a answer ? lol why most of colors settings are locked while playing HDR on console ?TVs aren't like that i guess it's locked on RACING VISUAL mode

it looks terrible with HDR i bought it to enjoy HDR GAMING now it's just useless , 400 HDR or 1000 HDR doesn't make any sense when colors are washed out and dim , is it that hard to let user change the color mode with HDR on ? i don't understand this ? asus shoudln't make any HDR monitors OLED , WLED or whatever it doesn't matter

i've check the forum and people are reporting and asking for better HDR settings since 5 years ago give us a better firmware with more contole over HDR settings

for anyone who interest in buying one of these products just look for samsung or lg TV with HDR capable or even budget TCL TV doing much better than this i just got scam for a fake HDR monitor

Hi @CoffeeAddicted9 ,

we sincerely apologize for the delayed response due to the recent holiday.

Regarding the issue you encountered, we would like to further clarify the following:

  1. Could you provide comparison photos showing the faded display when HDR is enabled and the normal display under SDR mode for our reference?
  2. Does adjusting the brightness improve the issue?
  3. Please provide the source of the images for further verification.
  4. Have you tried restoring the monitor to its factory settings?
  5. We understand that some settings become unavailable when HDR is enabled. We will submit this feedback to our team for further evaluation.
  6. Did this issue occur immediately after purchasing the monitor?

Please help us confirm the above details so we can better analyze the situation. We appreciate your support and cooperation.

this is the most colorful place in the game it's even worse in other games

1.SDR

SDRSDR

HDR

HDR enableHDR enable

adjusting the brightness has no affect at all , changing HDR modes has no affect

i have 2 cables and i tried different HDMI ports

i had this issue first day , everything looks dimm and washed out on ps5 menu

current firmware version is 041

the problem is when HDR is enabled monitor is forced into racing visual mode , this is the biggest issue asus should let user to decide which visual gaming mode they want to use

Hi @CoffeeAddicted9 ,

thank you for the information you've provided.
We've passed your details on to our relevant backend team for analysis.
Please be patient and wait for any updates or messages from us.
Thank you.

just let us increase the brightness and contrast a litte bit with color selection from cool to warmest, that would fix the issue with HDR for sure , it's too dim , dark and washed out , i've did increased the contrast and brightness with only 10% increasing in colors throught the NVIDIA control panel for my PC and the HDR looks fine on HDR contents but on the console i can't change anything

i can't gaming on PC i have mide range graphic card 4050 RTX it's not capable of running games on 4K i just bought this monitor to enjoy 4K HDR contents on PS5 , i will wait for your answer current firmware is 041

Hi @CoffeeAddicted9 ,

Based on your description, we have confirmed that when display receives an HDR signal, the upper right corner of the OSD menu should display "HDR Mode" instead of the "Racing Mode" you are seeing. This indicates that your PS5 device may not be successfully sending an HDR signal.

To clarify the issue, we recommend that you:

  1. Check OSD: Please double-check the upper right corner of the display's OSD to confirm whether the PS5 has enabled the HDR function, whether the display OSD has also enabled the HDR function, and whether the upper right corner of the OSD displays "HDR Mode".
  2. Provide screenshot: Please provide a screenshot of the upper right corner of the display's OSD so we can confirm the mode that is actually being displayed.
  3. Contact PS5 manufacturer: We recommend that you contact the manufacturer of the PS5 for technical support. They may have a better understanding of the PS5's HDR settings and can provide more accurate assistance.

Thank you.

jesus christ all i'm trying to say is HDR mode is using racing visual mode for colors accuracy which is washed out

in update 028 it clearly shows in OSD that HDR mode is enabled along with RACING VISUAL  , in update V041 it's just shows that HDR mode is on
