After trying multiple times to update the monitor firmware since it kept on failing as well as plugging it to different usb port on my pc, the usb hub in the XG32UCWMG suddenly stopped working altogether. It isn't detected anymore in the device manager. Even the USB-C display input does not work with my MacBook Pro anymore.
I'm wondering if the failed firmware updates bricked the USB hub of the monitor and if there is a fix for this.

<p>
It sounds like the firmware update process might have corrupted the USB controller on the monitor. Some models require a specific USB port and cable type for updates to work correctly, otherwise the update fails mid-way. A full power cycle with the monitor unplugged for a few minutes could sometimes help, but if the hub no longer shows in Device Manager, it may need a service check.

I did try unplugging the monitor for 5 mins and it's the same.
Well that sucks. I was kind of hoping there was another way to flash the firmware of the monitor besides via the USB port.

I have also tried updating to the latest firmware using the supplied USB cable and I it failed and now Windows is always showing an error connecting to the USB of the monitor...

I can't update the the latest firmware either, tried both supplied USB cable and USB-C cable, firmware update fails and getting the Windows error "USB Device Not Recognized".

Not sure if it helps anyone. But I did contact ASUS about this, not had a reply yet, but I am now returning it to Amazon for a replacement as the USB controller is now bricked.

Just got this monitor today and have tried updating it. I'm getting the same issue as everyone else. It just fails at 66%.

Just received a brand new replacement and it failed at 66% updating firmware...
Thankfully it did not brick the USB device this time.. But I am stuck with a HDR flicker...

Hopefully they release a new firmware that we all can actually update to b/c this flicker is pretty noticeable and distracting! I've tried everything to get it to update and nothing is working.
