XG32UCWG Firmware update fails

ASUS_XG32UCWG_MCM102:

OneKeyUpdate:

• Device detected
• Fails at 66%

ASUS_XG32UCWG_MCM103:

(Apparently has a fix for MCM102 failing at 66%

OneKeyUpdate:

• Device not detected

USBFlashDriveUpdate:

• Have tried 2 USB sticks formatted to FAT32, plugged into the USB port on monitor in instructions
• Holding OSD centre button brings up OSD and doesn't initiate update
• USB does get recognised in Windows when connected to the monitor, so it works

ASUS, Can you please release a firmware tool that works? Do you actually test it before you release it?

Has anyone actually managed to update the firmware on this monitor?

Wondering the same! Paid over $1200 for this monitor and can't even get an update or response! Every time there is a white image on my screen I just see it flicker.  Its super annoying and distracting! Makes no sense that the 165hz variant got an update 3 days ago but the more expensive monitor doesn't have anything... STILL!

EDIT: I just realized you are referencing the 165hz 103 update? Please tell me that one isn't having issues too. WTF?!

Yes. It is extremely frustrating. I am nearly done with this monitor and I will get a refund and not buy a new one.

MCM102 OneKeyUpdate detects the monitor, but fails at 66%. MCM103 doesn't detect the monitor. So it to me this seems like an error with their updates.

I've sent ASUS support another email about it.

I just tried to run the older 102 update and it’s not detecting my monitor anymore either! It just spins and spins and then says “FAIL”. I’m tempted to do the same as you if they don’t put out an actual firmware we can actually update to smh

I was able to update mine yesterday. Not sure why it worked this time.

I Had the KVM in manual, used the supplied USB cable, and had Type C Bandwidth set to 3.2.

I'm sure I had tried this a few times before, so no idea why it suddenly worked.

After failing to install MCM102 and MCM103 using my main computer (device not detected or failing at 30% with 5450M error), I decided to unpack my 15 year old Intel computer running Windows 10, connecting it using DP and USB-B, the same connection as my main computer.

Guess what, the firmware installation of MCM103 worked on first try...
