XG27AQDMG goes full brightness after waking from standby

inspire11

My XG27AQDMG turns it brightness to max and Uniform Brightness to OFF when it wakes up, even if the settings shows otherwise. As soon as I modify anything from the settings, it corrects itself. I'm using the latest firmware MCM 103.

Please let me know how to fix this

Hi @inspire11 ,

Thank you for contacting ASUS support.

We understand that you are experiencing an automatic brightness adjustment issue with your XG27AQDMG monitor.

To better assist you, we would like to clarify a few points:

  1. Firmware version impact: Have you tried updating or downgrading the monitor firmware to other versions to see if the issue changes? Specifically, is firmware version 103 the key to the problem?
  2. Connection cable impact: What type of connection cable are you currently using to connect to the monitor (e.g., DisplayPort, HDMI)? Have you tried replacing the cable with another one to see if the problem persists?
  3. Factory reset: To rule out software setting interference, we recommend that you try resetting the monitor to factory settings. Before performing a factory reset, please be sure to back up your important personal settings.
  4. Record the problem-occurring process: To better understand the issue, could you please record a video of the screen when the problem occurs? Please provide the video in MP4 format.

Additionally, to analyze the problem more comprehensively, please provide the following information:

Monitor: XG27AQDMG
Graphics card model:
Graphics card driver version:
Operating system: (e.g., Windows 10, macOS)
Thank you for your cooperation.

Just want to say that I have the same issue with the PG27AQDP, running the 102 firmware.

Due to the different display models, to avoid confusion, we recommend that you create a new post.

In the new post, please provide the following information:

  2. Operation process: Please record the steps that lead to the problem as an MP4 video and upload it.
  3. Troubleshooting steps: Please list the troubleshooting methods you have tried, such as: updating drivers, replacing cables, etc.

Your XG27AQDMG monitor is defaulting to max brightness and turning off the Uniform Brightness setting after waking from standby, even though the settings show otherwise. This could be a firmware issue or a conflict with your display settings. Try performing a factory reset, updating your firmware (check for newer versions), and ensuring your graphics drivers are up to date. If the problem persists, reaching out to customer support might help resolve the issue. As a busy student juggling extracurricular activities, I often struggle to complete my assignments. This

No it still happens. Seems like there is no fix from ROG support either.

Any news regarding this issue ? I've just received that monitor yesterday, and already on the verge to return it because of issues like this.
I have seen a similar topic for the same issue, and that topic was 5 months old. How long should consumers wait before receiving a proper fix ?
Some people even says that it happen with other Asus monitors as well, so most likely a firmware or hardware issue. Unlikely to be related to Windows or the DP/HDMI cable.
We need a statement about this ASAP.

This happens on my asus 540hz as well. It's crazy how bad asus software is, where is the save button 😭😂
