XG27AQDMG DSC Startup Black Screen

Thomas3322

First of all: ive searched since 3 Months and invested like 12 hours in reading, its time to ask Asus about that problem.

FW Version: MCM104

Im on Windows 10 , Displayport 240hz, 4070ti. i was using 3 DP cables, one that came with the monitor (bought in november) and 2 new ones that meet the standard.

My Problem: ONLY when DSC is enabled, the Monitor stays Black on Windows Startup " no display port signal", the only 2 solutions that fixes are:

A: Turning off DSC in the menu, windows makes a "plugged in" sound and i see the desktop.

B:  Unplug the DP cable and replug it in, then i see the desktop even with DSC enabled.

Obviously thats extremely annoying, because if i want to play HDR games, which require DSC for full 240HZ 10 bit Gaming, i have to enable it everytime i play a game and disable it before i shut down windwos or the monitor itself, because it wont turn back on without doing the methods i described above ( A or B ).

A Full Reset also didnt change anything, ive all drivers and monitor firmware installed, the DP cable is only 1.5 meters long and its away from any electronic interference.

So whats the Problem: Monitor stays black on startup with DSC enabled.

What do i expect: Monitor shows my Desktop on startup.

Whats the solution for this, there are plenty of people that have this problem, there are much more who have blackscreens while gaming, i dont have that, only on startup or when shutting down the monitor with DSC enabled. Never happens once with DSC disabled.

Hi @Thomas3322 ,

To better assist you with this issue, we recommend that you try the following steps:

  1. Check input source: Please check your display's OSD menu to ensure that the correct input source (usually DP or HDMI) is selected.
  2. Adjust refresh rate: Try adjusting the refresh rate of your display to see if it improves the issue. You can adjust the refresh rate in your computer's display settings.
  3. Check graphics card driver: Please ensure that you have the latest graphics card driver installed. You can visit the graphics card manufacturer's website to download and install the latest driver.
  4. Change connection port: If your computer has multiple display output ports, try connecting the display to a different port to rule out the possibility of a faulty port.

Kindly confirm the above details so that we can further analyze the problem. Thank you!
