I've had this XG27AQDMG since November 27th 2024 with no real issues with it but I went to start my computer tonight and I'm just getting a black screen on it. The screen isn't broken because the OSD still comes up and works fine. When I check in Nvidia Control Panel I see the monitor both when using display port and HDMI. When I plug the monitor in both through the displayport as well as the HDMI ports the screen displays that it's switching sources correctly. I've tried switching sources manually. I've tried plugging the monitor into the other Displayport on my Nvidia 3080 as well as the two HDMI ports and the behavior is the same. I have also plugged it into my Macbook Pro through a displayport to USB-C dongle and a straight HDMI to HDMI cable and I still get the same thing. I've also tried reducing the refresh rate through the Nvidia Control Panel. The only thing I haven't done is update the firmware which I can't do at the moment because I haven't had a USB-A to USB-B cable for probably twenty years. Do I need to open an RMA? Firmware is MCM101.

Ok, looking closer the most recent firmware is in a format that requires a USB-A to USB-B cable but the one prior to that (MCM103) is just a .bin file I could drop onto a USB to perform the update that way. After doing that and unplugging/replugging the power in (since the firmware flashing prompt suggested turning it off an on again but it wouldn't register the power button after flashing). One thing I will note, if it helps anyone, was that when turning the monitor on and off through the OSD, I never saw the ROG splash screen I had always seen prior on boot.
