Windows 11 HDR starts with "not supported" until I turn on/off VRR - XG27AQDMG

Hi,

When I start up my PC, Windows 11 always says that HDR is not supported, and disables HDR, until I go into the OSD and either enable or disable VRR. After that it works fine. What is causing this? I have to do this every time I start up my PC and it's very annoying.

Monitor: XG27AQDMG
GPU: Radeon RX 7900XTX connected via DP 1.4

Hi @sto1c ,

Thank you for your inquiry.

To better understand the display-related issue you are experiencing, please provide us with the following information:

  1. Graphics card driver update: Please ensure that your AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX graphics card driver is updated to the latest version.
  2. Firmware version issue: Does this issue occur on a specific display firmware version? Did the problem also occur in previous firmware versions?
  3. Cable testing: If you try using a different cable, does the problem still occur? This will help us determine if it is a problem with the cable itself.
  4. Port testing: If your graphics card has multiple DP ports, please try using different ports to confirm if the problem can be resolved.
  5. Display reset: We recommend that you restore the display to factory settings and then confirm whether the problem still occurs.

Thank you.
