VG34VQL1B VGA error

TheRock

The issue I am having is I am getting 1 long and 4 short beeps when I start up. I have the Asus Z590-A MB and the Asus VG34VOL1B monitor using D-port to connect to Asus GTX 1080.  I installed the GPU and all was fine. Now I noticed the white light on MB which is VGA error. I have CSM already disabled long before I ever got the 1080 card. When I boot up with the monitor and video card I get 1 long and 4 short beeps which after googling seems to be a memory issue. I don't have a memory issue because if I unplug the VG34VOL1B monitor and plug in my SmartTV and boot up the computer.  I get no beeps and the computer boots up perfect. So that means I don't have a memory issue. If I plug in the Smart TV and boot the computer and after booting I plug in the Asus VG34VOL1B monitor everything is fine and there is no VGA white light on MB. So there must be a conflict between the ASUS monitor and the GPU. BTW, I did try the GPU in another pcie slot and same beeps. I can't figure out how to fix this issue. Greatly appreciate any replies.

Thank you very much for the reply. I only just figured it out whay my problem was after doing all you suggested and more. I had to update the Nvidia Graphics Firmware which fixed the problem. Pretty much the last thing I done before giving up lol.

Thanks again

Hi @TheRock ,

Thank you for providing detailed information about the compatibility issue between your Asus VG34VOL1B monitor and Asus GTX 1080 graphics card.

We suggest that you can:

Reinstall the graphics card:

  1. Power off and unplug: Make sure to turn off your computer and unplug the power cord.
  2. Remove the graphics card: Carefully remove the graphics card and check if the PCIe slot is bent or damaged.
  3. Clean the gold fingers: Gently wipe the gold fingers of the graphics card and PCIe slot with an eraser to remove dust.
  4. Reinsert: Insert the graphics card firmly into the PCIe slot.

Check the power supply:

  1. Sufficient power: Ensure that your power supply has enough wattage to power your system, especially the graphics card.
  2. Power cable: Check if the power cable is securely connected and try replacing the power cable.

Test with another monitor:

  1. Rule out monitor issues: Try connecting the monitor to another computer or using another monitor with your computer to confirm if the problem is with the monitor.

Check the motherboard:

  1. PCIe slot issue: If you have tried different PCIe slots but the problem persists, there may be a problem with the motherboard's PCIe slot.
  2. Other component failure: A failure of other components on the motherboard can also cause the graphics card to malfunction.
