I'm trying to get three PG27AQN monitors to work on my ASUS TUF 3090 and it won't allow me to do more than two at a time. Every single monitor works as one or in any combination of pairs but I can't get all three to work at once/together.
Has anyone else run into this problem? The monitors are listed in device manager, Windows Display settings and Nvidia Control Panel. Windows Display settings won't let me Extend to the third monitor and Nvidia Control Panel won't let me select the third monitor without deselecting another in the multiple monitors section.
I've tried:
Clean reinstalling the nvidia driver (Game Ready 531.79)
Swapping high quality cables
Setting different resolutions and refresh rates from very low to native (all the same on each monitor)
Reinstalling Windows 11
Testing on another system with a 4090 ROG STRIX OC (Same behavior there)
Nothing works...

Hello, @Ulthos
I apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delayed response, as there have been consecutive holidays at our location in recent days.
May I ask if you are currently attempting to connect all four monitors for simultaneous display?
Could you please specify which four monitors you are currently connecting? Will any combination of three monitors with the PG27AQN result in the PG27AQN not displaying?
When the PG27AQN fails to display, what specific issues occur? Does the power indicator light up?
Are you using DP or HDMI for the connections? Are you using the original manufacturer's cables?
If you connect each monitor individually, do they all display properly?

Any combination of the other 4 of the 5 monitors works fine.
Any combination of the other 2 of the 5 monitors works fine when PG27AQN is also connected(via DP port).
Work laptop can connect to 3 monitors + PG27AQN via HDMI port(Not DP port).
Tested with original and 3rd party cables separately.
Everything works perfectly except for this issue.
The screenshot I shared on the previous post occurs when;
Step 1- PG27AQN already connected via DP port.
Step 1- 2 any other monitors already connected via DP or HDMI.
Step 2- I try to extend the desktop to the 4th monitor via Windows display settings.
Step 3- Error message on the screenshot appears, extension to 4.th monitor fails.
In addition, 3 monitor with PG27AQN can only happen if I limit the refresh rate to 240. Otherwise PC crashes and restarts.

Hello, @Ulthos
I apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delayed response and thank you for providing a clear breakdown of your current setup.
Would crashes happen if the PG27AQN were connected to your PC via HDMI while the other three monitors were connected using DP or HDMI to the PC?
Thank you.

Hi, when PG27AQN connected via hdmi port, 4 screens works fine with both my PC and the work laptop.
I found a bug with usb ports;
USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A (blue port), works fine at all times.
USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A (red port) with NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer, doesn't work unless I enable the reflex analyzer. If I enable it works fine. If I disable and keep the usb device plugged, the plugged device keeps working fine. If I unplug, then plug the device doesn't work. I have to enable the reflex analyzer again.
Tested with the delivered cables, used ASUS Chakram X, ASUS Spatha X and several other usb cables/devices/non-reflex mice. The result didn't change. Tested multiple times if the cables are well connected.

30 series cannot support 3 monitors at high bandwidth like that. I'm guessing the samsung are not 360hz
The maximum number of HDMI or DisplayPort displays that an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-
series or RTX 20-series GPU can drive at the same time may be limited to two displays
under the following conditions:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-series GPUs
When driving a Display Stream Compression (DSC) - capable DisplayPort or
HDMI display where the horizontal resolution is greater than 5120 pixels or that
requires high clock bandwidth; for example, 3840x2160 @ 160 Hz.

In my experience (OP here) it would not drive them on a 3090 or a 4090 at any Hz rate at any combination of resolution. Three of these monitors did not work at all in any combination with the highest quality cables with high end Asus video cards. Asus e-mail support (after weeks of back and forth) said it was a hardware issue with the monitors.
It would be nice if Asus actually tested these configurations and certified what works and what does not work and make that information public for the next person.

Hi the problem ended up being DSC, I think if you disable it you can connect 4 even but limited at 240hz.

They can, the problem ended up being the DSC. If I disable it, I can run 4 monitors but the PG27AQN stuck with 240 hz even only PG27AQN is connected. The problem is there is no way to quickly switch DSC on/off neither via monitor shortcuts or Armory Crate.

Hey guys i spend thousands of dollars on 3 pg27aqn monitors but i also cant run them on 360hz on all of them. 2 is fine. 3rd seems to break it. it also deselects on nvidia control panel. i tried everything. i have rtx4090 and i9 13900kf. 2 monitors work fine. all systems are up to date. windows 10 and 11 dont work also.
