Spots on screen ASUS XG32WCS

Hi everyone! I recently purchased this monitor and was met with this issue; every time there’s a dark or black scene on the screen I see big bright spots on the corners and edges of the screen (photos attached below).

I connect the monitor to my laptop and PS5 Pro and it’s seen in both devices. 

Has anyone encountered this problem before? Is this a defect? Or is it a common occurrence for a monitor of that price?

Regarding the issue with your ASUS XG32WCS monitor, where noticeable bright spots appear at the corners and edges when displaying black or dark images, we recommend checking the following:

  1. Brightness, Contrast, and Backlight Settings:
    Please confirm whether the brightness, contrast, and backlight settings on your monitor are set too high. This could cause bright spots to appear in dark or black images. Try lowering these settings and check if there is any improvement.
  2. Firmware Version
    Please ensure your monitor's firmware is up to date. In some cases, display issues may be improved with a firmware update. Or you can try reset the monitor to its factory setting.
  3. Test Different Cables or Ports
    If possible, try using a different cable or display port to rule out any issues caused by a specific cable or port malfunction.
  4. Check Graphics Card Settings
    When connecting to a PS5 or laptop, please check the graphics card settings to ensure that the color depth, color range, and refresh rate are compatible with the monitor. Misconfigured settings can sometimes cause bright spots.

If, after these checks, the issue persists, it may be due to uneven distribution of the LED backlight, which could result in bright spots in certain areas. 

We recommend sending the monitor to a nearby authorized service center for further assistance.

I've looked far and beyond for a firware update for this monitor and I haven't found it. Every setting on the monitor has been checked.
