Safe to use the PG32UCDMR with a Macbook Pro? Port Damage Risk?

Hi Guys,

I have a Macbook Pro M3 Max hooked up to my Asus PG32UCDMR via a USB-C cable.  I've read with concern  some people have fried their Macbook Pro port while hooked up to the Asus.  Has this issue been fixed and addressed in the newer "R" version of this monitor that I own?  Am I safe to use a USB-C cable?
