Hello, @pksonic

May I ask if the model you're referring to is the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM?
If so, have you updated it to the MCM104 firmware version?
Regarding the issue of the screen suddenly becoming dim, does it happen without any changes in settings, or does it occur after a period of idle time?
Please also check your system's display settings and ensure that the monitor connection is correct. Could you provide the following information to help us better understand your situation?
- Is the dimming consistently the same during usage? What are the specific usage scenarios?
- Are you using a DP or HDMI connection? Have you cross-tested to see if the issue persists with different connections?

Thank you.

hello, @Jiaszzz_ROG  thank you very much for your help.

Yes it is the new PG27AQDM the swift OLED,

i have updated it to the newest firmware, MCM104

its not the cables fault because i tried a new 1.4 display port cable, i tried the old one was well.

the connection is fine

and the dimming is consistent, for example, when i am in game its fine then when i pull up the scoreboard, the brightness goes up then after I let go of the score board, it goes back to normal, its really distracting when in middle of games it happens, also i see that when i have Opera GX on and the whole is white the text on top such as the URL goes darker, so it just a property of OLED? the screen gets dimmer when more white pixles are needed?

Hello, @pksonic

We would like to ask you to cross-test the cables because sometimes the quality of the cable may also cause abnormalities.
May I ask if you have also updated the ASUS_PG27AQDM_WHQL_Driver and ASUS_DisplayWidget_Center to the latest versions released on the official website?
We are a bit uncertain about the scenario you described. Does the screen suddenly become dim only during gaming? Are there any other situations where this occurs?
If you have confirmed that the relevant drivers and firmware are all up-to-date, please provide us with videos and photos of the abnormal display, which will help us better understand the difficulties you are currently facing.

Thank you.

sorry for not replying in a few days, i was testing some things out.

yes i have updated everything, to the monitor it self to the asus displaywidget and armoury crete too.

so the screen dims when something bright happens on the screen or when i take damage in overwatch the screen dims abit, i will try to record some footage of this happening and i will upload it to youtube and send it here. thank you for your help.

Hello, @pksonic

Thank you for the additional details. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delayed response, as there have been consecutive holidays at our location in recent days.

Regarding the first video, at around 00:44 seconds, I can see that there is indeed a difference when you press the tab key. However, it appears that the screen becomes darker instead of brighter, as mentioned in the video narration, and it's hard to confirm if this is caused by a specific page filter in the game.
Does this issue occur only when HDR is enabled? Does it happen with every HDR mode?

Regarding the second video, at 1:03 seconds, the entire screen appears to become darker, while at 1:10–1:15 seconds, the top left corner of the screen experiences a darkening effect.
Is this the same issue as described in the initial post and the first video? If you disable HDR, does the issue still occur?

We recommend performing a screen reset by pressing and holding the "MENU" key and selecting MENU > System Setup > Restore factory mode (Reset) > select "Yes." After resetting the screen, please set up HDR again to see if the issue persists.
If the problem persists, please provide two identical videos, one with HDR disabled and another with HDR enabled.

Thank you.

hello sir. sorry for the late reply but i have been busy with work and school, and have barely any time to play,

i hope you enjoyed your holidays, and thank you again for the help,

i have factory reset the monitor and the problem still here, i have uploaded a new video with better examples of the problem and with HDR the problem is still there and with HDR off the problem is gone, i dont know if my monitor is defective or this is normal for a monitor, but the brightness dimming thing is really an issue, because i dont have much time to play anymore and the precious 1 or 2 hours i have to play is valuable and this monitor dimming in games really ruins the experinece, i could use it without HDR on but whats the point of a 1000USD monitor if i cant use it for what it is good for... hahaha, thank you for your help, just frustrated at this monitor for the price i paid.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIlB7YNxNpY

Hello, @pksonic

Thank you for providing another video recording. It seems that we missed one point.
Could you please confirm if you are directly connected to the graphics card? What are the specifications of the graphics card?
Additionally, could you please help us confirm if the same issue occurs when using an HDMI connection?

Thank you.
