Problem with firmware 105 and proximity sensor on PG32UCDM

Pepillo

When activating HDR with firmware 105 the proximity sensor stops working, it remains marked in grey in the menu, which did not happen with the previous ones and it worked without problems.

The only solution I have found is to activate the adjustable brightness option, then it does work. A warning appears that the HDR curve will be modified but I understand that if you do not modify the brightness it will remain the same. I understand that it is a bug that I ask Asus to take note of so that future firmwares can fix it.

Thanks

Hi @Pepillo ,

according to your question, when the HDR feature is enabled, the proximity sensor will not function. This is an expected behavior.

You can refer to the diagram below or consult the manual for further information.

If you want to adjust the brightness while HDR is enabled, please go to Image > HDR > Setting > Brightness Adjustable.

Thank you.

Providing detailed device specifications (MB/CPU/GPU/PSU, etc.) and the respective driver versions, OS version, and BIOS version will help us analyze the issue more effectively.

Thanks for answering @Aureliannn_ROG, but either I didn't explain it well or you didn't understand me.

1.- Before firmware 105 the proximity sensor worked with HDR mode.

2.- If you activate the adjustable brightness option, the proximity sensor works again with HDR mode, just by activating it without changing the brightness.

How exactly does using HDR prevent a proximity sensor from working? This really sounds like a bug, not a feature. What next? When running the monitor at 4K the following features are not available: Displaying image, turning on, turning off?

The proximity sensor doesn't work with Dolby Vision either. It would be nice if they fixed it, remember that before firmware 105 the proximity sensor worked in all modes, it doesn't make sense that it doesn't work depending on the mode.

The same thing happened to me. I don't know how, but now it is solved.

Spoiler
Activating the adjustable brightness option temporarily resolves the issue, but it's inconvenient. Consider reporting this bug to Asus support for future firmware updates to fix it. I needed help with my term paper and https://domypaper.com/ really came through for me. The writer delivered a high-quality paper that was well-researched and well-written. The customer support was very responsive and helpful throughout the process.I am very satisfied with the service and would highly recommend it.
