PG42UQ very slow to wake from sleep.

Firmware is V031. With either a win 11 pc connected through HDMI or a macbook connected through DP, it takes an average of 30 seconds for the display to wake up and start responding if the host machine puts the display to sleep. To be clear, the OS itself is running, and the machine is not in a sleep state, just the display is in a sleep state.

Is there anything that can be done about this? It's a pretty terrible user experience, because it feels like maybe the machine froze or crashed and it's not clear that it's just the display thats not responding.

V033 has the same issue as V032.

Also, optical spdif is bugged. Left channel is 50% quieter than right channel. As well as not displaying a picture until the monitor is power cycled when restarting a system. This is all at 120hz by the way. It's been 4 months with this monitor. Is it at all possible for asus to get it together and deliver a working product?

I have the same thing on the latest firmware V33. HDR is not bright and cloudy. This is sad for the price. it remains to wait for the new firmware V34

This thread is 6 MONTHS OLD. The image retention issue just happened again last night. WHEN ARE WE GOING TO GET A WORKING PRODUCT ASUS?

Ok, the Pg42uq on firmware v33 with display Port also still has issues for me.

- especially with HDR enabled alt-tabbing often results in the monitor losing connection and going into standby.
Only manually turning off/on the monitor and alt tabbing a few times fixes it. Sometimes it is easier to get working, other times it is a real hassle.
- waking up the monitor from standby even on SDR sometimes does not work.
- HDR Image quality could be better, see ratings test of the monitor.
There are some guides on the net how to improve image quality in hdr by using the Nvidia Control Panel, but this should not be needed.
The image quality should equal the LGC2 out of the box.
- I had to replace the stock DP cable with another smaller cable, because the stock cable was getting bent. This bent resulted in image corruption!
- the pixel shifting protection setting might not work - I have never seen any pixel move, even in high pixel move settings?*
* @asus Any ETA or new information about the next firmware update?
Thank you.

*Product support is really important for long-Term customer satisfaction.
This is my first monitor from Asus and it was not especially cheap!

Hello, asus? Is there anybody home? What is the status of addressing these issues.

Asus, firmware 33 came out two months ago. It is still broken! This display has not had a firmware that worked since it has launched. When is the working firmware coming out?

Asus, anybody there? When will this monitor be fixed?

Yeh, my screen is not waking up on V033, requires me to hit power button a few times. Normally takes 60 seconds or so.Â*

Another issue is if you're using the lineout to passthrough hdmi or dp audio from a source theres an noticeably loud and incredibly annoying feedback squeal that is constant.

Asus where are the fixes for all of these issues? When is the next firmware supposed to be out?
