I also just bought one of for my B-day and I'm having issues with the HDR also.  I have to say the HDR is garbage on this monitor and makes me hate OLED and the HDR on my old monitor was nothing like this. So far this monitor is only useful with the HDR off and I've tried different settings and tried using the calibration in Windows and that didn't do nothing. Asus definitely needs to address this with a firmware update but it has me worried because after reading some other posts with OLEDs with HDR issues is that it helps or it's still an issue. Also it seems like there's been a number of posts about the same issue with the PG34WCDM before and after the update and at this point if there's no word on some kind of fix I'm ready to box this back up and return it. One added note is this should have been addressed since the 34 was released first and both are using LG panels since the issues had been known.

Any update?

It sounds like you're experiencing some frustrating issues with your new monitor. The washed-out HDR and screen flickering could be due to software or firmware issues. Make sure your GPU drivers and monitor firmware are up to date. I was overwhelmed with assignments, so I decided to use https://domypaper.com/ The service was fantastic. The writer provided a well-researched and perfectly formatted paper that met all my requirements. The communication was easy, and the paper was delivered on time. The quality of work was impressive, and I’m very satisfied with the results. I’ll definitely be using this service again in the future.

None,  when I called it took a while to get some general information then I was told there is a known issue and that I'd have to send it back which didn't make sense since I was told it needed to be updated. I asked if it's a firmware then why can't I do that myself like the 34 since there are firmware updates for that.  Then I was told it would have to be checked into and I'd receive an email with information which is funny because after a long delay I received 3 different emails from 2 different agents asking all the same questions. I sent the reply to all 3 and then another long delay and now I've received 2 email saying I need to do an RMA.

At this point I'm done and I'm not going to play games dealing with an RMA, I already setup a return with Newegg to replace the monitor and I'm going to see what happens with a second one. Reason I'm not doing an RMA is because I don't want to get stuck with this monitor if Asus can't fix the HDR and I don't want a monitor that's returned with some shortened warranty due to what they send back.

Boxed up the first and sent back to Newegg, received the second one and still the same issue as the first. HDR is overly bright, washed out, unnatural looking, there's some serious issues with this monitor and I would recommend avoiding this if you want HDR. Don't know what issue Asus has going on and don't know why they can't issue a firmware like they did with the 34 and like I said in the last post I'm not going to RMA this monitor and get stuck with it.  I have a friend that pick up the 45 LG OLED and I'm going to check out his screen and look elsewhere brand wise unfortunately.

I got the 34" version of WCDM and also have problems with HDR. ASUS gave me firmware update for HDR that didn't improve much so you are not missing much.

Thats unfortunate, I had a PG35VQ and the HDR didn't look anything like this. I'm starting to wonder if it's an Asus thing or an OLED thing. Seems like there's a bunch with some issue with HDR and OLED with other brands also, but some say firmware fixed it and some didn't. I've also seen a bunch where others were saying people don't understand HDR and what they see and that most don't have their settings correct or it's issues with the content they are viewing. My problem with that then is it shouldn't be that difficult to use HDR where one has to jump through hoops and know all the magic tricks. I almost feel like I should take my laptop into a store and plug directly into the monitor to test the HDR before I buy an OLED which is ridiculous that it's something to do but I don't want to be going back and forth with a bad purchase.
