PG34WCDM - Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)

Hi,

I was excited to receive a brand-new OLED monitor last week. Straight away I have set up the monitor with my PC over the weekend. All went well, and I have installed and updated all the drivers, including Windows updates.

However, I was surprised to see that Windows Computer Management had an error in one of the USB Controllers.

I checked the property of the USB Controller.

To make sure I even used different cables that I know that are working. I even plugged the monitor into my laptop with the same results.

Firmware Update executable didn't recognise the monitor I had to use the USB to put the firmware file and flash it from there. Even the ASUS Display Widget Center didn't manage to get the serial number.

It is every surprising and unfortunate to see this on a very beautiful and expensive monitor. I was expecting the best, though I shouldn't be.

Is there a way to have this fix? Is it drivers that needs to be installed or future updates that are to be release.

Hope to get resolution or I may have to DOA the monitor.

Kind regards,

Garry

Same exact thing happened to me.  I just received the monitor today with firmware 102 installed,  after upgrading to 103 I got the exact same error.  This kind of QC is not good when the Brand already commands an unjustifiable premium over competitors due to a perceived brand quality difference.  Bummer the state of ASUS in the last few years.
