PG34WCDM HDR LOOKS WRONG

GirthQuake

Hi everyone, like everyone else below me I am also having issues with HDR, as well as some weird screen flickering.  I find it strange that asus support is privately messaging people a firmware update instead of putting it on the website available for all to download.  Anyways, I just wanted to add my two cents on this issue, but from looking through the forums it seems lots of people have issues with HDR, and asus hasnt even posted any announcement saying they are aware and are working on it... this does not inspire confidence.  I like the monitor but who knows when these issues will be fixed... i may end up returning it and going for the LG 34GS95QE instead

Hi @GirthQuake ,

could you please provide a screenshot of the abnormal display when HDR is enabled for our reference?

Has this issue been occurring since you received the product?

Also, may I know what is your current firmware version?

Thank you for your assistance.

Im not sure if it would have happened when I got the display because prior to this HDR looked absolutely dreadful on MCM101, or whatever the original firmware shipped with the monitor, there was no color and it looked gray and weird, after the update the colors were better but now it does this weird blob thing whenever things go out of focus, or when theres different levels of lighting in scene or sometimes some pixels flicker for some reason?????????

love being ignored, thank you asus. your customer support is top notch. @Aureliannn_ROG its been like 20 hours and your profile shows online. whats the deal with this monitor, is it broken? should i return it? will there be a firmware update because yall are aware of the issues?

What's the source material meant to look like? Clearly, whatever it is, it's meant to be out of focus. So I'm not sure what it is you're asking.

You've posted regarding HDR and then subsequently posted something different altogether. Please remember this is a community forum despite the fact staff do monitor it. If you want an instant reply I'd suggest calling service for your region and explaining your issue clearly.

Hi @GirthQuake ,

could you please provide a video clip showing the abnormal display on the monitor for our reference (please provide the original mp4 file)?
Additionally, please provide the URL of the test screen so we can compare.
Is this issue only occurring in the 201 version?
What kind of scenario triggers the issue?
Does the abnormality occur whenever HDR is activated, regardless of the content on the screen?
Your assistance in confirming these details would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thread cleaned. Please keep on topic and reply to CS request if needing further assistance. Replying about not receiving a response and then ignoring requests from service isn’t going to help you.

@HakykSuu Standby open threads regarding the PG27AQDM for an update on this to avoid confusion. There are threads running for tone mapping, and feedback hasn’t been ignored.

Oof , yeah im not gonna be Like hakyksuu one year from now and be dealing with this issue still not fixed in the pg34wcdm. Moderating comments regarding how bad the monitors are is not a good look. Goodbye

It isn’t the same issue or even panel, which is why polluting threads with other unrelated problems doesn’t help anyone.

CS should be reaching out to you directly to address this via PM once an issue has been confirmed (if they haven’t done so already), please follow the instructions given above
