I have my PG34WCDM for a week now and it's been working as I expect it to. 3 days ago I enabled the proximity feature, that turns the screen to black when there is nobody in front.
Today I went afk for a few minutes and when I came back, the screen didn't turn back on anymore. The logo on the front doesn't light up anymore and the pixel logo grid on the back is also black. Connecting it to a laptop (which it was connected to) shows the display is connected and gives me the exact monitor type.
I've tried with 2 laptops (one Ubuntu, one Macbook, both connected through the USB-C cable) and one PC (Windows, connected with DP cable).
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Hi @Erates @Klapperslang ,
Thank you for contacting us. To troubleshoot your monitor display issue, we recommend trying the following steps:
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, we recommend that you send your monitor to a nearby ASUS service center, where our engineers can inspect your device to determine the root cause of the problem and provide the most suitable solution.
Thank you.

I have had this issue too. Did you buy from Amazon?
I purchased the ROG Swift PG34WCDM less than a month ago and ran into this issue. Had the proximity/screen standby mode on, next morning when I went to my computer the monitor tried to wake up (it flashed the desktop image for a second), but then the monitor powered off and I tried all suggestions from online posts and nothing works. I had thrown the box away so I purchased a new same monitor from Amazon and returned the first one in that box. I noticed the 2nd monitor’s serial number was the next in line from the 1st monitor. The display when it worked was fantastic, however I had so many issues with the OSD, KVM/USB functionality that it’s clear to me that although the display is nice when it worked, the monitor is complete junk. I have lost all confidence in Asus monitors and won’t purchase another monitor from them. Now since I don’t have a box to return my 2nd monitor, I have to find a box and bubble wrap to return this back to Amazon.

Sad to say I had to send my monitor to Asus to have it repaired.
Had to miss it for nearly 3 weeks, but now I got it back and it works again.
It is another serial number, so I guess it's an entirely new screen.
I think going to the seller would have been faster, since it was within 30 days. (Not Amazon, but a European seller)

Same problem here, I return it to seller and I'm waiting for a refund or replacement. I have it connected to an Asus Strix Laptop and the proximiti sensor was activated. It flashed the desktop image for a second and then the monitor screen went off. The monitor was still functioning as the laptop was detecting it and all USB devices that were connected to it were working fine.
