PG32UDCM as second monitor keeps reverting to 120Hz after PC restart

Hello,

I know about the issue with NVIDIA cards (4090 here) where the PG32UDCP or PG32UDCM will revert to 120Hz when a PC restarts if it is connected with a DisplayPort that is not the farthest away from the PCI slot. The issue can be permanently fixed by simply connecting the monitor to the display port farthest away from the videocard's pci slot.

My problem is that I have both the PG32UDCP and PG32UDCM in a dual monitor set up. So every time I restart my PC, the secondary monitor reverts to 120Hz and I have to toggle VRR off and on to get back 240Hz on the second monitor. Is there no permanent solution to this issue? It's a hassle and this shouldn't be an issue for such expensive monitors.

Hi @Alzahawi ,

Thank you for contacting us.

To help us troubleshoot your dual-monitor refresh rate issue more effectively, please provide the following information:

  1. Problem occurrence scenario: Does this problem only occur when you connect two monitors? Is it normal when using a single monitor?
  2. Monitor connection method: Please confirm that both monitors are directly connected to the graphics card, and not through a hub or adapter. If you can provide an image of the monitors connected to the computer, it will help us better understand your setup.
  3. Refresh rate issue: Does only a specific monitor (not the main monitor) have a refresh rate of 120Hz? Or are both monitors affected?
  4. Problem reproduction video: To better understand the process of the problem, we recommend that you record a video of the process from booting up to the refresh rate issue and provide it to us in MP4 format.
  5. Monitor settings: Please confirm that the settings of both monitors are exactly the same. To rule out setting conflicts, we recommend that you restore the factory default settings for both monitors.
  6. Driver updates: Please ensure that your monitor firmware and graphics card drivers are the latest versions. You can download and install the latest version of the drivers from the monitor and graphics card manufacturer's websites.

To help us pinpoint the issue, please provide your computer specifications, including:

  • MB/CPU/GPU/PSU model:
  • Operating system version (e.g., Windows 10, 11):
  • Graphics card driver version:
  • BIOS version:

Providing the above information will help us find the root cause of the problem more quickly. Thank you.
