PG32UCDP turns on locked at 4k 120hz

Dobrido

Every time I turn my pc off and on again (even if the monitor stays on sleep mode) my monitor starts locked at 4k 120hz, I cant change it back to 4k 240hz on any pc settings, they all say as if the monitor was 4k 120hz max. The solution I found is turning on frame rate boost and turning it off again, then the monitor goes back to 4k 240hz. I am currently at firmware MCM103. This is no deal breaking bug, its just annoying.

Thank you for the reply, as you mentioned graphics card inconsistencies, I tried switching DP ports the monitor was connected to in my gpu and it appears the issue has been solved. My bad for not trying this earlier but thanks for the help

Hi @Dobrido ,

Thank you for providing detailed information about the issue.

We understand that your screen automatically locks to 4K 120Hz after every reboot and you cannot adjust it through system settings.

Currently, you can only temporarily resolve this by turning the "frame rate boost" feature on and off.

To help us better diagnose and resolve this issue, we recommend that you try the following steps:

  • Update your graphics card driver: Outdated graphics drivers can cause display settings abnormalities. Please visit your graphics card manufacturer's website (such as NVIDIA, AMD) and download and install the latest driver version.
  • Update your Windows system: Windows updates sometimes bring new display setting options or fix known issues. Please ensure that your Windows system is updated to the latest version.
  • Restore your monitor to its original settings: You can try restoring your monitor to its original settings. Please note that this will delete all changes you made after the restore point.

Additionally, we would like to gather more information:

  1. When did the issue start: When did this problem start occurring?
  2. Recent changes: Have you installed any new software, drivers, or made any changes to your system settings before the issue started?
  3. Record a video: To better understand the issue, please record a video of the entire process from booting up your computer until the problem occurs. Please provide the video in MP4 format.

Please provide the following information to help us assist you more accurately:

  • Computer model:
  • Graphics card model:
  • Operating system version:
  • Monitor firmware version:
  • Solutions you have already tried:
  • Supported operating modes: Please check if the resolution and refresh rate you're trying to set are supported by your monitor. You can usually find this information in your monitor's user manual or on the manufacturer's website.

Just picked this up yesterday I am having the exact same problem, with the exact same solution as well. Let me me know if they were able to give you a permanent solution. Also does your entire monitor stutter twice before going into the 240hz mode after your turn frame boost off as that happens to me.

I switched the DP port my rog and my second monitor were connected to on my gpu and it seems to have fixed it
