PG32UCDP pixel cleaning too often

Hi guys, I just got myself a PG32UCDP monitor recently. I set display off after 1min in windows setting. After 1min without any activity, the monitor goes into stand-by mode (indicated by the orange light). About 5min later, the orange light start flashing (pixel cleaning).

According to the OLED stats, it says the pixel cleaning has been executed for 22 times and the OLED time track says 19 hr.

Should this be a concern?

How is pixel refreshing works for PG32UCDP?

System: windows 10

Monitor FW Version: MCM103

(Although I'm already using the latest FW, the update program still allow me to "upgrade" it again.)

Any help will be appreciated!

Hi @sakurauuz

No, no concern. If the panel is in standby mode the panel isn't in use. Pixel cleaning does not harm the panel; quite the opposite, it reduces the risk of burn-in.

Hi, i will follow here as i have the same "problem" with my xg27aqdmg. I set my monitor to go to sleep after 3 minutes and when i check oled care the screen has been on for 15hours an pixel cleaning has already been done 38 times. I does it every time my screen goes to sleep. There is pixel clean interval with oled usage info but it is set to 0hrs and i cannot find a way to change this option. Also did any one else got the issue that when my pc was off the whole night and i booted the screen would not turn on. I had to disconnect it from the wall and then it got on.

OS is Windows 11, monitor fw version is mcm 104

I did a pixel cleaning manually after gaming. While the monitor is in cleaning, windows' 1min timeout for display-off kicks in. However after the cleaning end, the monitor does not go stand-by (power indicator: red light). When I got up in the morning and "wake" the system up, the monitor suggested me to do a pixel cleaning beacause the last time I did that is in 13 hours ago (thats my sleep time)

Not trying to be negative here but i contacted Asus customer service europe and they said to me that this much pixel cleaning cycles is not normal. They even suggest to send the monitor back as it is faulty? Although i have to be honest, the guy on the other side on the phone did not give me the impression that he was an expert. So who to believe now and what to do? Oled usage info now says 21hrs on and 43 pixel clean cylces.

Edit: After having contact again with Asus Europe they suggest an RMA so i do not think this much pixel cleaning is a good thing. They even say that it is an hardware issue that needs to be resolved. Can anyone elaborate on this?

Hey, how do you see those stats? Through the Asus app / Armory Crate? (I hate it)

My monitor does a pixel clean every single time I shut down the display and 5 minutes pass, pretty sure the same in your case it thinks the monitor is turned off so it just does a pixel clean cycle.

On the other hand for example on another OLED device that I have (a LG G4 OLED TV) it only does a pixel clean cycle if over a cummulative of 3h pass since the last one.

Yeah its the same. You can see the cycles and on time in the osd. In firmware 104 it is under oled care.

Sorry for another post, cant edit the other one. I have returned my monitor and got another one. But the pixel clean thing remains the same. So maybe it is normal behavior? Let's hope as this is not a cheap monitor.
