PG32UCDP - LG WOLED - Bugs

resync50000
Level 7

since there isnt one thread yet.

here are my first findings:

  1. when switching back to SDR from HDR -> color space option gets lost its reverts back to wide gamut instead of srgb for example
  2. if you disable all LEDs you cant see if pixel refresh is running or not -> possible to get the pixel refresh indicator with LED Options set to off ??
  3. pixel refresh seems very random? it seems to run everytime the device goes to standby -> not after a cumulative use of for example 4h? (is that normal)?

---screen is ******ing awesome btw...

Devs are reading this? i dont want to go through support, that didnt work out great last time.....

Issue number 1 is pretty annoying, hopefully that gets fixed ASAP. Mine is doing the same thing.

I also hope they fix the EOTF tracking on some of the HDR modes like pointed out with Monitor Unboxed review.

Other than that, I LOVE this monitor.

Hi @resync50000 ,

Thank you for providing detailed feedback regarding the PG32UCDP monitor.

To better understand the issues you're experiencing and provide you with the most accurate assistance, we would like to clarify a few points:

  • Color Space Setting Issue: We understand that the color space setting does not automatically revert to sRGB when switching from HDR to SDR. To help us better visualize the issue, could you please record a video of the process and provide it to us in MP4 format?
  • Pixel Refresh Issue: You mentioned that you cannot determine if the pixel refresh is in progress when all LEDs are disabled. Are you referring to disabling all lighting effects in Armoury Crate? Normally, adjustable lights include the base ROG light projection and the backplate ROG logo. The power indicator light should be on constantly and cannot be turned off.

  • Regarding the pixel refresh mechanism, our monitors automatically start the pixel cleaning function when turned off, which usually takes about 6 minutes. Have you enabled the pixel cleaning reminder in the monitor settings?

Providing the above information will help us locate the problem more quickly.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Providing detailed device specifications (MB/CPU/GPU/PSU, etc.) and the respective driver versions, OS version, and BIOS version will help us analyze the issue more effectively.

This is the video of the Color Space issue.

hi thanks for your reply i try to clarify

1. i use SDR for normal windows use and have set "COLOR->Display Color Space->sRGB" if i now play an HDR game i switch to HDR play my game come back to windows and switch back to SDR now this setting is "COLOR->Display Color Space->Wide Gamut" ---> it doesnt remember my last choice.

correction ---> it does also loose it when its going to standby and comes back

2. ive disabled all LEDS (Aura Sync / Aura RGB / LIght in Motion and Power Indicator) now i dont see when the monitor does its pixel refresh ---> when the indicator turns amber. would be great if it could show amber indicator in standby regardless off OSD LED status.

(disabling all Lights in monitor OSD, i have not used the software you mentioned)

--> The power indicator light should be on constantly and cannot be turned off. ----> it can be turned off (thankfully --> please keep that) in OSD.

3. does pixel refresh trigger every time my monitor goes into standby? regardless of usage time?

does it also trigger if i manually switch the monitor off (but leave power plugged in)?

4. and EOTF needs fixing like @zekkragnos already stated

New bug found by a friend of mine. If you have an Xbox via hdmi and PC hdmi connected it sometimes happens that if you switch of your device. The screen endlessly switches between inputs instead of turning to standby .

I don't know how to clarify it more.

Just set it so srgb like described in my post above.

Switch to hdr or let the screen go to standby or turn it off and it resets to wide gamut.

It doesn't matter what cable or device.
