PG32UCDP flashing

gotarts

I've had this monitor now for 5 days and it started flashing with lots of distortion of the image. It did this with multiple inputs, including my iphone through usb-c, so I think I can safely rule out bad cables or a failing gpu. What seems to have fixed the issue is by setting it to the lowest height. I thought maybe the power cable was getting tugged a little in the higher positions, but even if I push the monitor to a higher position while supporting the power input the screen resumes flashing.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? This is my first ASUS product and I've heard the customer support isn't the best. I really like this monitor but if it's defective and has the potential to get worse over time I'll have to deal with the hassle of returning to Amazon.

Edit: Problem solved, it was interference from my 5g router which was located directly next to it.

Hi @gotarts @g1989z ,

we apologize for the delayed response due to the recent holiday, and thank you for your patience.

Regarding your issue, the electromagnetic waves from the 5GHz band are stronger and can easily cause interference with nearby electronic devices, especially with displays that are sensitive to electromagnetic interference.
We suggest trying the following methods to resolve the issue:

  1. Adjust the placement of your devices, keeping them away from other electronic equipment that could be affected.
  2. Change to different cables to rule out any cable-related issues.
  3. Ensure your devices have the latest firmware updates, as this can help reduce interference.

Please continue to monitor the situation, and if the issue reoccurs, feel free to reach out to us, and we will be happy to assist you further. Thank you.

Plz check my comment down below

I got the same issue.  It was resolved with newest 108 update. Did you have that one?

nahhhhhh, the newest firmware for PG32UCDP is MCM 106 on official site, right? https://rog.asus.com/monitors/27-to-31-5-inches/rog-swift-oled-pg32ucdp/helpdesk_bios/

Aa l see it's  for ucdp one. I mean ucdm but the 106 should resolve that too, for udcm 105 already done that for me before.

Unfortunately the problem is still threre and so annoying , and this monitor only 1month and half, i m gonna return it, i think this gen probaly have some factory defect o design issus , cuz i saw lots of issue of black screen

i  take a new video,  checked from 2:15, i cap all from start the PC, so everybody can see this issue,

As you can see, there's excessive flickering. Here’s what I’ve tried to fix it:

  1. Updated the firmware to version 106 (this is the latest version as of the date I uploaded this video).
  2. Turned off HEC in the OSD.
  3. Disabled VRR.
  4. Switched to a different cable, either DP or HDMI.
  5. connected only one monitor, cuz i have another OLED  G9 above

I’m not the only one experiencing this issue. I’ve tried every possible solution and even looked through the ROG forums, but no luck. When it works, it’s literally an excellent monitor, but I’m not sure. I have another G9 OLED, and it never gives me this problem. I don’t know if I’m just unlucky or if it’s a factory defect.
