PG32UCDM with PS5 Pro + Macbook Pro: Screen does not turn on after a week

Hi,

I've got my PG32UCDM a week ago. I was pretty happy with it both for console gaming and macbook work.

After a couple of days the screen turned off and did not come back for a longer while, but eventually it got back.

This weekend it just shut down when I was working on my macbook and it hasn't came back since. I tried disconnecting the power and signal (USB-C and HDMI), I left it turned off for a night, I tried thoughts and prayers, but the screen remains black. There is even no OSD menu, nothing. The logo light turns red and lighter red, I can turn it on and off, it powers macbook and macbook can see the screen in the display menu, even the sound goes through to my Sonos soundbar, but the screen is completely off and black all the time.

Is there anything I am missing, or it is just a faulty unit?

Thanks,

Arek

Hi @arek_ ,

regarding the issue with your display not showing any image, please first verify the following steps in order:

  1. Please check if the power cable is securely connected to both the monitor and the power outlet. Additionally, we recommend trying a different power outlet to rule out any power supply issues.
  2. Please try using different signal cables (such as HDMI or DisplayPort cables) or different signal input ports on the monitor to eliminate the possibility of cable or port failure.
  3. We suggest trying to connect the monitor to another display output device to confirm whether the monitor itself can display an image normally.

If the issue persists after completing the above steps, we recommend that you send your display to an official ASUS service center for further in-depth diagnosis and assistance from our professional technicians.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I tried different sockets and nothing changes. I do not feel the signal cables matter for the OSD menu. There is nothing showing up on the screen, including the built-in menu.

The same thing happened to me this week with my older PG32UQ monitor (using the word "old" with a 3 years product hurts). The monitor works, you can see the power-on screen, you'll see a flash for a moment showing the desktop and then the panel goes completely black. The menu is not visible. I was thinking buying a new PG32UCDM as a substitute for the PG32UQ, but at this point I'm hesitant. Different monitors with the same issues ...

I ended up returning PG32UCDM and replaced it with Gigabyte AORUS FO32U2P.
