It's been almost a year since I purchased this monitor and I remember it was then possible to turn off the lights on the back before doing further firmware updates (that made it impossible afterwards).
I've been waiting for a fix for months and even under MCM108, it's still impossible for me to turn off the lights on the back (the one with the shiny logo), even if I manually turn the monitor off. I literally tried everything (Armoury crate or OSD don't work) but the logo on the back still shines red (when turned off through the OSD).
The only way to turn the RGB on the back off is to... unplug the monitor which isn't a solution and since the monitor is in the bedroom, it's really inconvenient. Will there ever be a "MCM109" update soon or should I get the monitor replaced... ?
Thanks in advance.

Go to Armory Crate, Aura Sync, make sure that PG32UCD is checked then go to Aura Effects tab and choose "Dark (off)" there.
It works perfectly for me since initial firmware and till actual 108

Thanks for your answer. Already tried your fix, it doesn't work.
It only removed the RGB of my fans, motherboard, GPU etc... but the RGB on the back of the monitor still stays on (in red), as you can see in the picture (attached).

Have you connected the monitor to pc with usb cable?
And BTW there's an option in OSD 'Lighting Effect' - Aura RGB and you can turn it off there, to make it available switch off 'aura sync'

Yes, the monitor is connected to my PC with a USB cable, the same I got Day One with the monitor.
As I stated in my original post, turning off the lights on the back worked before updating the firmware for the first time (around March or April 2024).
I did try to use the OSD (as stated in my original post) and nothing works. When I switch aura sync off and the lighting to off, as well, the RGB remains in red (as shown in the picture above).

Well, that's looks like a hardware problem and if full reset of the monitor has no effect - it definitely is a hardware problem.
As you can understand it all works fine on my unit, and I've never seen similar topics here...

Thanks for your help, nonetheless.
I've seen plenty of similar issues, especially on Reddit.
Maybe a future firmware update will fix it (if no moderator looks into my thread).
I've done some research and apparently a plugin to a subpar software (close to what Armory Crate does) has a fix for this but I won't be installing yet another RGB software (as it will create some overlap bugs, for sure, and Armoury Crate is already too unpredictable as it is, on its own).
I hope I won't have to return the monitor just because of this... It's a minor bug yet pretty annoying in my case.

1. Not sure.. Probably MCM102 or MCM103. I got the monitor on March 12th 2024 (according to the info I have).
2. No, I've only used cables provided with the monitor. Should I try other cables that are not "ROG" certified... ?
3. I tried to reset the monitor twice 2 days ago but it doesn't seem to have reset the monitor 'cause all of my settings were still saved (and it was still running MCM108). The screen goes black when I do the factory reset through the OSD but maybe that option is bugged too ? It didn't fix the RGB on the back issue, that I can tell (the bug is still there)
4. Aura Sync -> off + Aura RGB -> off in the OSD = the RGB logo on the back still shines red, as shown in the picture attached in my previous post.
Looking forward to your next post.
