PG32UCDM problems dp 1.4 240hz

Good afternoon, I have had the monitor for 15 days and I have seen that several people report the same error on Reddit that I am suffering from.

When the monitor is connected through dp 1.4, it always starts windows at 120hz and 240hz is not available, but if you deactivate vrr and activate it again, 240hz appears again.

With HDMI 2.1 this does not happen.

I hope Asus takes note and releases a new firmware, because I have 30 days to return the monitor.

The display widget center app does not recognize the monitor through HDMI, only through DP.

I have a PG279, this has been my experience, I haven't been able to find the steps to replicate it. Turning DSC off and on again will allow me to go back to 240hz.

Using MCM102 firmware, MSI Suprim X Liquid 4090, Asus ROG Maximus Hero Z790, Intel 13900KS

Gentlemen, I had the same problem. The solution was to connect another DP cable and then it was 240Hz, and after inserting the DP cable from Asus it was also 240Hz.

Hi PiPoLiNiO,

Thx for reply, but your solution is not working for me when i changed or switched the displayport cable.

@LinkinFF9 Have you checked HDMI? In my case it was like this: I got a monitor, connected the DP and there was no 240Hz, then I connected the HDMI and there was 240Hz, I connected the DP from the PG27AQDM and it was 240Hz, then I connected the DP from the set again and it was also 240Hz.

Yes, with HDMI the problem is resolve, when Windows startup the PG32UCMD goes to 240hz + Gsync, i don't understand why with DP cable there is a conflict with other monitor...

Thank you PiPoLiNiO 🙂

Having the exact same problem here. Anyone find a solid fix for this? Hate having to toggle settings in the OSD any time I want to utilize 240Hz.

I should mention, that toggling VRR (in either direction) allows Windows to detect 240Hz mode.

This ALSO works with toggling DSC off or on.

It's very strange. It's like the monitor needs to "refresh" or "re-initialize" in order for Windows or GPU to detect it's correct settings.

Using a Gigabyte 4090, and the DP cable that came in the box.

And one last thing.

Should I be getting the Windows 11 "Hardware Disconnect" sound every time this thing enters full screen, or the monitor does to sleep?

Kind of annoying.

If you're on MCM102 that's a bug with the "auto kvm" feature they added. It's a known issue and they're working on a fix.

Unfortunate I'm on the latest firmware
