PG32UCDM problems dp 1.4 240hz

Good afternoon, I have had the monitor for 15 days and I have seen that several people report the same error on Reddit that I am suffering from.

When the monitor is connected through dp 1.4, it always starts windows at 120hz and 240hz is not available, but if you deactivate vrr and activate it again, 240hz appears again.

With HDMI 2.1 this does not happen.

I hope Asus takes note and releases a new firmware, because I have 30 days to return the monitor.

The display widget center app does not recognize the monitor through HDMI, only through DP.

Same stupid problem. 240 hz is not even an option. This is absolutely ridiculous. I "upgraded" from a samsung G8  so I could run 4k at 240 HZ and refreshed every retailer like a crackhead for 2 months to find one, all to have this monitor not work properly. Yes I have swapped cables, I have a rui-pro fiberoptic 2.1 Ultra, That's not the problem. Tried included display port and an assortment of high speed HDMI 2.1 cable.  Some people say they can turn off vrr and it will show, I cant even get it to appear.  All hardwear is brand new. oc4090 Strix, z790 formula,  14900k, 1200 watt thor psu. Deleted all drivers and reinstalled GeFororce experience. Adjusted and readjusted literally every setting 100 times. Im about to just return the ****** thing and go back to my G8 or exchange for MSI unless a fix is released soon. Like within a week.

Hi ThebigBient,

The 240hz with HDMI is up only when the DCR option is activate in the OSD option of the monitor, have you activated this ?

I have resolved the issue. Thanks for the response

I have two of these in a dual monitor setup and have the same exact problem. The main monitor will maintain 240hz but the second one will switch to 120hz when you reboot the computer. If you toggle the vrr it will turn back on.

4090fe, 13900k, MSI z690i

Graphics card are up to date

monitor is fw version MCM103

Both monitors are using the display port cable that came with the units.

Is there a current fix for this?

Anyone find a solution for this problem yet? I know disabling VRR and re-enabling it works but would like a more permanent solution.

I’ve had no problems since switching to the first DP port on my video card. This surely can’t be as intended but in the meantime it does appear to resolve the issue.

I have an ASUS ROG Strix RTX 4080 OC, I plugged into what I think is the first DP I circled in red here:

But still have the problem.

To fix I have to either switch the monitor off and back on or toggle Adaptive Sync from the monitor's OSD.

Latest firmware and drivers.

This has now not happened to me for a couple of weeks. I did not knowingly change anything, only did the usual graphics drivers and Windows updates. Can anyone confirm if this is a fluke or if something has been fixed?

EDIT: meh, after today's Nvidia driver update it happened again...

Hello, I do see the 240Hz option, but my problem is that when I set it this way (240Hz), the screen turns black after a few seconds. In 120Hz configuration it doesn't happen. It doesn't matter if it's DP or HDMI, the same thing happens. Does it happen to anyone else? Any suggestions? Thank you

I don't even get a 240hz option, I have been stuck on 120hz since I got this monitor. Has anyone else experienced this? I've updated firmware/drivers, used the furthest DP from the PCIe slot, etc. and nothing works.
