PG32UCDM netflix subtitle white flicker. (VRR & GSYNC ISSUES)

rhms

Hello,

I have issues with the PG32UCDM when using the Netflix app from MS store (UHD 4K)

Any show with subtitle will make the screen flicker white. Removing subtitle does fix the issue but they are plenty of shows and movies that have forced subtitle and the issues will come back regardless of having subtitle active or not. (Full screen only 49Hz)

- Disabling G sync from the NVIDIA panel is the only solution that will resolve the issue on this matter.

Having to disable G sync every time just to watch something is unpractical for a 2024 QD-OLED Flagship

I have tried to disable G sync specifically on the Netflix app or Edge via the NVIDIA panel but they are all grey out

(Monitor Technology : Greyed out)

I have notice when the mouse moves Netflix will run at 240hz but when you stop moving the mouse and the Netflix app goes fullscreen it get stuck at 49hz and will not back to 240hz.

When it is running at 49Hz. White flickers are all over the place

IMO this is screaming VRR issues. But is it defective?

What do we do?

49Hz when Netflix goes fullscreen

240Hz when moving mouse while fullscreen

after mouse settle

Netflix goes back to 49Hz

How do we fix this?

At this moment I'm just downloading torrents of every show I want to watch on Netflix.

This issue is forcing me to break copyright laws.

Hi @rhms ,

Thank you for reporting the issues you're experiencing with your PG32UCDM monitor when watching Netflix, such as subtitle flickering, frame rate limitations, and G-SYNC conflicts.

To better assist you, we would like to gather some additional information:

Regarding the subtitle flickering issue:

  1. When did the issue start: Did this issue start when you first started using the monitor, or did it start later? If it started later, could you please provide the monitor firmware version when the issue began?
  2. Specific platform: Does this issue occur with subtitles on other video platforms like YouTube? If it only happens on Netflix, we recommend that you also contact Netflix support for assistance.
  3. Video sample: To better understand the issue, could you please provide a video recording (MP4 format) showing the subtitle flickering?
  4. Driver update: Please ensure that your graphics card driver is updated to the latest version. Outdated drivers can cause compatibility issues.
  5. System update: Please ensure that your Windows system is updated to the latest version to fix any potential vulnerabilities.

Regarding the frame rate limitation issue:

  3. Video sample: To better understand the issue, could you please provide a video recording (MP4 format) showing the frame rate issue?

Regarding the G-SYNC conflict issue:

  1. Full-screen mode: Try playing Netflix videos in windowed mode to see if it resolves the G-SYNC conflict.
  2. NVIDIA Control Panel: Please ensure that your NVIDIA Control Panel settings are compatible with your monitor driver.
  3. Video sample: To better understand the issue, could you please provide a video recording (MP4 format) showing the G-Sync issue?
