PG32UCDM LACK OF FIRMWARE & FALSE PROMISE

@Jiaszzz_ROG @Aureliannn_ROG @Bobby_ROG @Anbby_ROG

Where is the new firmware update with advanced HDR controls & Anti-OLED flicker and many other features for PG32UCDM as promised?? Almost 6 months of no new firmware meanwhile other models receiving every month once, So with this should we need to conclude that ASUS ditched UCDM model to boost up UCDP sales? Come on guys still it's not a cheap product anywhere it costs almost equally as much as high end PC. Is this the current state of ASUS support system? Seriously guys this is gonna be my last ASUS product. ASUS is nothing but a cash grab brand and that’s been proven once again.

It also may have caused an issue to my monitor as now its files display its firmware as MCE0 nopt MCm105 or 109. ASUS YOU SUCK.

Finally guys they have released a firmware with much-awaited features after a long period. We won, but there is a catch. It seems ASUS hasn't released it wholeheartedly only just because we forced them to do it. They have only included advanced HDR controls but not Anti-Flicker, Neo proximity features still I don't know what stopping them from doing that. Nowadays, Anti-Flicker has become mandatory for any OLED out there, but they still miss those features. Irony here is cheaper version 27UCDM has all these features including DP 2.1 port. So, this is not enough. Anti-flicker has to be included in the first place. If possible, with that new neo proximity option. Still, our fight isn't over.

Finally!! 😄

My upgrading process and results upgrading to MCM108:

- Upgrading from MCM105 via cable was impossible. The upgrade app won't launch even if the monitor is connected to port 1 on the back of the MOBO.

- Upgrading via USB pendrive was painless. So, I suggest using that. The steps are in the PDF included with the FW 108.

Results:

- The latest widget 1.8.0 app (updated within the app) won't let me change color settings. It opens, I see the sliders on different settings, then they all go to zero and nothing is responsive. I tried quickly tweaking "contrast" before all slider go to zero and indeed the monitor took the change. The widget seems just bugged.

Also in the widget, if you click on the model number menu at the top it does nothing.

This also happened with FW105. I had to set SDR and HDR color temp within the OSD.

- The OSD can now be set to "Large" (Thank you!)

- HDR color temp adjustment works and is awesome, I only needed to lower R and G to 90 to obtain neutral white. Tried with CEMU Mariokart 8 and looks beautiful. No more greenish skies.

- Toggling HDR on and off is not possible from the widget.

- Toggling HDR on and off is in general now slower. Takes longer to toggle.

'Also in the widget, if you click on the model number menu at the top it does nothing.'

What are you expecting it to do? ))

In general in case of problems with DisplayWidget I'll recommend to close DisplayWidget (end process) reset monitor to it's default settings in OSD and then restart DisplayWidget. Or maybe uninstall DisplayWidget, then reset the monitor and then reinstall DisplayWidget

"What are you expecting it to do? ))"

Nothing really. But in the past was responsive and displayed the model twice, the second always being the one that made the color settings responsive again.

I'll try your suggestions and see.
