i tried power cycling, switching between dp and hdmi, tried navigating to the reset option on the OSD through memory and looking at yt vids, the osd doesnt show but the options still work as i was able to press the left physical button and start a pixel clean, hoping that it would help or fix it to no avail.

I have the same problem. For me, the issue sometimes occurs when the monitor wakes up and can be resolved by power cycling the monitor. It might be helpful if someone from ASUS (@Aureliannn_ROG) could get involved and possibly forward the issue to the development team.

Have you tried updating the monitor's firmware and/or loading an older firmware version using the firmware rollback mechanism?

Just for reference, this is what the error looks like for me:

I will try this rollback thing later as im not home for another couple hours, once im back i will update this thread if it succeeded or not

Have you tried updating via One-Click Update in Windows or via the USB update method?

If using the One-Click Update method, make sure the monitor is connected directly to the PC (without any USB hubs or similar devices in between) and that the only one ASUS monitor is connected via USB during the update, otherwise the update tool won't start.

If using the USB update method, the issue is likely that the monitor currently is unable to display OSD menus. In this case, try copying the update to the USB drive as described in the PDF instructions, try to start the update by pressing the joystick for more then 5 seconds and wait a few minutes. Maybe the update might still run in the background. After 5-6 minutes the monitor, the monitor should restart automatically if the update was successful.

i still have the usb a cable and the usb c cable that came with the monitor, does it matter which one to use

According to the update instructions, the USB-A to USB-B cable should be used.

just finished updating to mcm105, previous version was mcm108. nothing has changed. gonna re-update to mcm108

Have you tried connecting the monitor to a different device or graphics card, and made sure that the graphics card drivers are up to date?
