So i am having this issue since the day i bought the monitor.
At first it was happening during a certain game, the callisto protocol.
Now it is happening also in Destiny 2.
As i am playing these games with HDR on,after some time the screen goes black and i have to manually turn the monitor off and on again in order for the image to appear again.
I had at the beggining the factory firmware, after i updated to MCM102 and now i have the 103.
This issue seems to be consistent on all firmwares.
I know it is not related to my windows setup because on the same pc with a different monitor this does not happen.
I have my pg32ucdm connected via dp.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated!!

I appreciate the update. Have they been able to replicate the black screen problem?
If they can't replicate it, ask them to play Final Fantasy 7 remake integrade on Steam at 4K settings with everything maxed out on the PG32UCDM and within the game. This game is the easiest way I've seen of replicating it. There are other games that cause the black screen problem, but for me they aren't as frequent.

I tired this with Indiana Jones and was not able to replicate the issue. I finished the game on 4k max settings and some lower settings. I don't think there is a demo for final fantasy and I am not really interested in buying that game. what kind of frames are you getting in that game? if its game related its very likely a driver issue from Nvidia. I don't believe they have a demo for that game either.

Even if it is a Nvidia driver problem, it's still happening on Asus Samsung made panels. The LG equivalent monitor doesn't have this problem on the same NVIDIA drivers. In Final Fantasy 7 remake integrade I get the maximum 120 FPS that the game allows with max settings. Even though I own rebirth the sequel, I haven't spent much time with it because I haven't completed remake integrade.

I got this monitor a few days ago and experienced many black screens when using different resolutions and different refresh rates: 4K 240.02Hz - 1440 240.02Hz, 239.97Hz - 1080 240.02Hz, 239.97Hz, etc., and between standard mode and power saving mode, and when Windows turns off the screen after a certain amount of minutes being idle also with hibernation and sleep mode selected as "Never" in Windows 11 settings, after the LED shows in orange color and shows (HDMI 1 No Signal), the only option is to restart the PC.
This is my first experience with an ASUS monitor.
It's frustrating and stressful.
I'm going to return it... I got it directly from Amazon, return is not a problem since it's been just a few days.
And it seems like this monitor has been on sale for many months and I don't think a firmware will solve the problems in the short term. Better to play it safe and go for alternatives.
I know from the little I have seen and read that this is usually a common problem on OLED panels but I don't know. I hope it's only with OLED panels. If someone can confirm it would be good information.

Its just these Asus monitors and maybe LG/Samsung idk. I have an Alienware and have never had a single issue. Havent seen any reports about the new 27 inch UCDM yet, that one is also the newer 4th Gen OLED panel.
**i take it back, im seeing people complain about the new 27 inch also lol

Hi all,
Im in the process of returning my second XG27ACDNG monitor (it's been nearly 3 months of issues and black screen esp playing PUBG). I need a monitor for work so cant keep waiting on repairs and fireware etc so today I purchased the ASUS 4k 27UCDM. Im VERY HAPPY to report i've had no issues at all with this monitor. It did give me a scare as i was playing with lights out and had the Neo Proximity sensor set to on and it turned off not knowing i was there!! All good once disabled.
Early days but monitor looks solid and the picture and text is amazing. Hope i can still get a refund for the XG but didnt keep the box and reseller is being difficult about that.

I went through 2 RMAs. The last replacement came with MCM106 (potentially implying a change in hardware as it’s not available for download, but ASUS never confirmed this). Never had the issue since.

Try the steps I mentioned couple pages back, with changing the max bandwidth to 32gbps the problems go away. Try it so more people can confirm.

Interesting, for me it works, it just does not persist through system restart and have to do it everytime before playing certain games. Though I never get black screens from youtube or any other stuff, only when playing certain games.
