So i am having this issue since the day i bought the monitor.
At first it was happening during a certain game, the callisto protocol.
Now it is happening also in Destiny 2.
As i am playing these games with HDR on,after some time the screen goes black and i have to manually turn the monitor off and on again in order for the image to appear again.
I had at the beggining the factory firmware, after i updated to MCM102 and now i have the 103.
This issue seems to be consistent on all firmwares.
I know it is not related to my windows setup because on the same pc with a different monitor this does not happen.
I have my pg32ucdm connected via dp.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated!!

No response from ASUS on this matter is unacceptable. This will be the last time I buy an ASUS Product Period. Motherboards, keyboard/mice, etc - no longer.
For $1200 I would expect a much better prompt response, not dead silence on this matter.

Despite everything that has been reported about their warranty service in the news, personally I've never been let down by their support. I'm certain that for those that have an actual issue related to the monitor's firmware or hardware, it will be fixed when they diagnose its origin. For those reporting that removing the OC from their GPU or changing GPU settings makes a difference, it is likely not a problem with the monitor. In my own case, turning off the proximity sensor fixed the problem, at least for now... There is probably more than one thing going on.

No, it's absolutely something wrong with the monitor. One obvious sign is that when it happens, clicking the OSD button does not display the OSD menu, which means the display is just BLACK. If it was something wrong with the GPU or display output of the PC/Console, the OSD should still work.
One common sign among all users that reported it is due to VRR and HDR being turned on. I have reported in this thread before that I encountered the issue multiple times on my PS5 during some cutscenes on FFVII Rebirth and Remake. HDR and VRR is turned on my PS5.
On the ending cutscenes, the screen suddenly turned black but there is still audio coming out of the 3.5mm jack output.
No fixes yet.
HOWEVER, on my PC wherein I don't use HDR, I have experienced NO BLACK SCREEN for MONTHS.

When it happened to me my HDR was OFF, and yes same thing I couldn't get the OSD to come up when I pressed the button multiple times even though the monitor is still on. So for now we can't 100% rule out that it doesn't happen during SDR mode. My other monitor was still functioning and game was still running as can be heard from my headphones, so it is not a GPU/Software/Drivers/Windows issue, its strictly the monitor.

I had a chat with a guy on a forum who just bought the monitor and it came with MCM106 from the factory.
Why are we still on 105,does anybody have any info?

Hey folks,
Today, I returned the monitor to Microcenter (I had been using it since April) and exchanged it for a brand-new one (I mean the same 🤣 😅 ).
Now, I have a 30-day return period, which I think is enough time to see if the black screen issue reoccurs.
I really like the monitor and want to give it one more chance. If this one is also broken, I'll probably consider trying a Gigabyte.

They let you return a monitor that you bought in april? or you had purchased the microcenter extended accidental damage warranty?

Yeah, I had their extended warranty. Basically I’ve lost about $140. But in this particular case I do not regret.

Yeah I wouldn't regret purchasing anything with Microcenter's extended warranty as well. So did you have to get another purchase extended warranty with this replaced one? I'm thinking about giving it a try from there, my last one I had returned to Newegg already.

Assuming potential issues with this monitor, I've repurchased an extended warranty again.
