So i am having this issue since the day i bought the monitor.
At first it was happening during a certain game, the callisto protocol.
Now it is happening also in Destiny 2.
As i am playing these games with HDR on,after some time the screen goes black and i have to manually turn the monitor off and on again in order for the image to appear again.
I had at the beggining the factory firmware, after i updated to MCM102 and now i have the 103.
This issue seems to be consistent on all firmwares.
I know it is not related to my windows setup because on the same pc with a different monitor this does not happen.
I have my pg32ucdm connected via dp.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated!!

That's interesting, I would have assumed they would release it on the website before it made it's way to retail. Can he report his settings and if he is having the same issue?

Hey there,
In a post from a month ago, one user mentioned that MCM106 was installed out of the box - https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/gaming-monitors/pg32ucdm-where-is-firmware-mcm106/m-p/1047694

Yes and I can add that somebody on the german hardwareluxx forum came up with a new PG32UCDM and posted on the 29th of September!!!, that his unit already came with the "mysterious" MCM106 firmware. So, it's indeed remarkable, why this is still not available for everybody? Because obviously this firmware is already included in the production process for more than 2+ month now.🤔
Well, I hate to speculate, but have they changed something on the hardware site of newer batches and maybe this firmware is just for those units??? See, those kind of questions are just not good and this will always happen when the developer is not transparant in terms of costumer communications.

Do we know any 106 user with black screens?

So far, I'm not aware of any reports in terms of 106. Btw, I just quoted this old post on the hardwareluxx and asked him about any issues with black screens etc.
UPDATE: The guy on the hardwareluxx replied to me and he stated, that so far he never had any black screen issues in SDR or HDR.

Hi all,
I got my PG32UCDM screen today, havent changed any settings except i choose standard mode in power settings. Went to play BO6 and my screen start to blackout and after i minimized game and returning back to it i could see again. So i start to read about that issue and i went all through below comments and i can confirm that i have MCM106 version on my screen.
Im connected through DP port that has been included with screen and im also on 240hz refresh rate.

So now you're confirming that the issue persists even on MCM106.
What are your PC settings? Do you have HDR enabled in Windows? Which HDR mode do you use in the monitor?

It does not sound to me like he is having the same issue. Previously no amount of switching toggling etc would bring the screen back. Only power off/on. This sounds more like a game related issue to me....

It’s not a game related issue man. It’s happening to a lot of owners. It happened to me too when I was playing battlefield 2042, it f doesn’t matter what game it is because it can occur on any one of them. It’s a random lottery hardware issue because the only way you can get the image back only after turning the monitor off then on again. The fact that it happens on many reported different firmware versions makes me to believe it is random hardware defect. I personally went through 2 of these monitors, the first one I had to return to Newegg after coming across the issue on my own during gaming, it’s not acceptable on a $1300 flagship screen. ASUS has not yet found a fix or communicated anything on the matter. Luckily I live by a micro center, which is where I purchased my 2nd monitor, which I definitely had to get their 3yr accidental/damage extended warranty, In case anything happen I can get a new one from them instead of having to deal with ASUS’ dodgy customer service and sub par RMA support after reading through hundreds and thousands of people being treated poorly. I don’t recommend anyone picking up this monitor without an external third party warranty, it’s just not worth the hassle potentially being left in the dark after spending that much on a flagship monitor.
