So i am having this issue since the day i bought the monitor.
At first it was happening during a certain game, the callisto protocol.
Now it is happening also in Destiny 2.
As i am playing these games with HDR on,after some time the screen goes black and i have to manually turn the monitor off and on again in order for the image to appear again.
I had at the beggining the factory firmware, after i updated to MCM102 and now i have the 103.
This issue seems to be consistent on all firmwares.
I know it is not related to my windows setup because on the same pc with a different monitor this does not happen.
I have my pg32ucdm connected via dp.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated!!

Hi @Bucknuts07 @iemrek @DaPowerHouse ,
based on your issue, have you tried disabling the DDC/CI option in the OSD menu to see if the problem can be resolved?
Please refer to the link below for detailed steps on how to disable it.
Additionally, please help to confirm the following:
Thank you.

1. The screen remains black and requires manual action to recover: I have to take the power cable out and then plug it back in. Even the power button doesn't work i.e. the OSD menu does not show up. But as someone pointed out here earlier, even though the OSD menu doesn't show up, you can still take action by pressing the OSD buttons (if you have a good visual memory of the OSD menu).
2. Display firmware: MCM105, see below screenshots for other info
3. Someone has already posted a video (in one of the pages), but I dug it up for you https://youtu.be/YLWt-iwl4VM?feature=shared&t=73
I have disabled the DDC/CI option. It can take 1-2 weeks to reproduce the issue, I will post here after 2 weeks.

Yes, I disabled everything as per this thread.
After the 105 update it hasn't happened yet, also I have be using Dolby Vision for HDR
Thanks.

Hi all,
as the latest firmware version 105 has been released, if you are still experiencing black screen issues, we recommend updating the firmware to the latest version and then checking if the problem is resolved.

Hey @Aureliannn_ROG,
2 people here (including myself) have already reported that MCM105 does not solve the issue.
I'm now experimenting with DDC/CI option set to off as per your suggestion. I haven't had the issue so far but it's very early days. I'll give it about 2 weeks.

Hi @iemrek ,
thank you for providing the information.
We suggest trying to disable the DDC/CI option and verifying if the issue can be resolved.
If you encounter any further problems or updates, please feel free to inform us via private message.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Hello. The DDC/CI setting only applies to PCs connected to the monitor via DP.
EDIT: Able to disable DDC/CI in OSD Setup after turning off Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) even in HDMI 2.1 with PS5. However, turning back on VRR re-enables DDC/CI.
You have to understand that turning off VRR is NOT an option for people using this monitor because of its 240Hz 4k panel. Not even my 14900k with 4090 PC can run Triple A games at those refresh rate, so VRR/Gsync is MANDATORY for me. If you want to turn off DDC/CI, then allow it to be disabled separately from VRR.
My PS5 is still experiencing the same black screen issues even after updating to MCM105. I have reported the issue to this thread 2 months ago and my monitor was in MCM103.
PS5 Config: 4k, VRR ON, HDR ON
The monitor is running HDR True Black 400 when the issue occurs. It happened to me during the ending sequences (not pre-rendered) of both FF7 Remake and Rebirth, right after defeating the respective final bosses where the HDR is working as usual.
The screen turns black but the audio is still coming out of the monitor (speaker connected via 3.5mm audio out). Fix is to turn off and on the monitor. You asked to turn ON the FPS counter, and YES the counters also disappear when the issue occurs.
Please stop dilly-dallying on the issue and asking people to test fixes. I already included the exact scenario to replicate the issue, and all you have to do is ask your team to go and play to exact points and see for yourselves.
You keep saying that you can't replicate the issue by playing Baldur's Gate 3 for hours blah blah. Do you think the people reporting these issues are lying? We bought these monitors with our hard earned money and want to see this fixed!

It's been 2 weeks with DDC/CI option set to off. I haven't had the issue for 2 weeks, so it's looking promising.
I think I will turn it back on in a few days just to ensure I can still replicate the negative scenario, as further evidence DDC/CI might be the problem.
Cheers

@iemrek - Same here and I think the problem is DDC/CI, but we can't disable this while having VRR on, so in order for use to use VRR then how to open up the functionality to disable..

Hey @Aureliannn_ROG
Just a couple of days after turning DDC/CI back on, I was able to replicate the issue. It seems related to DDC/CI. I'll use it with DDC/CI off until the issue is resolved.
