So i am having this issue since the day i bought the monitor.
At first it was happening during a certain game, the callisto protocol.
Now it is happening also in Destiny 2.
As i am playing these games with HDR on,after some time the screen goes black and i have to manually turn the monitor off and on again in order for the image to appear again.
I had at the beggining the factory firmware, after i updated to MCM102 and now i have the 103.
This issue seems to be consistent on all firmwares.
I know it is not related to my windows setup because on the same pc with a different monitor this does not happen.
I have my pg32ucdm connected via dp.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated!!

I disabled fast startup in Windows 11 so every time I shut down my PC it actually shuts down and not just enters standby phase.
My monitor still has that function in which it enters standby and I don't actually turn it Off from the physical button from the back of the panel. (the Asus logo in front of the display remains red all the time signaling that it's not turned Off).
Might try to unplug and replug it physically from the power supply when I get home to see if it changes anything, but I doubt it.
Anyone here tried this?

Could be something that stays in monitor's memory until powered off, which clears it.

This is related to the 50 series cards and not the older gen ones. The issue is the monitor in this case since it happens across several platforms regardless of OS or driver.

Hi i think that i've founded the problem: DLSS. Try to disable DLSS in a game, let me explain, when i'm using DLSS 3 in Avowed for example, i've got the black screen problem but if i disable it in the game, there's no more black screen again. Even, in Borderlands 3 (that doesn't support DLSS native, and uses TSA AA), i don't have any problem with black screens... i think that it's driver related, i'm using NVIDIA 4090 (Asus Rog Strix OC).

Don't think it is that considering this issue spans different OS, devices, and gpus.

I'm with Win1124h2, latest firmware, latest nvidia drivers. DLSS ON=black screens, DLSS OFF=no problems.

How long have you experienced the no black screens with DLSS off? I have had VRR off for six months or more and have not had any black screens. Does that mean that VRR the source of the problem? Not really. Could be part of the whole problem but no the whole problem. This issue happens in so many different scenarios and hardware that it can't be Nvidia related.

Since first day, or at least, with these latest nvidia drivers and dlss i’m having the issue (i’ve buyed the monitor the past week). I think it’s a refresh rate related issue. If you don’t have the problem disabling VRR and i don’t have the problem disabling DLSS there must be something about the way the refresh rate operates with or without GSync, VRR or another “smooth fps solution”. GSync kicks in when the refresh rate is at certain values as VRR does. This is the only explanation that i found. But believe me, as you don’t have the problem disabling VRR in Linux, i don’t have it too disabling DLSS with GSYNC in Windows. So, for sure, is refresh rate related and the way the drivers and monitor works with fps when goes below or beyond the maximum refresh rate of the monitor (the thing that GSync or VRR does).

I don't have DLSS in games (Divinity Original Sin 2, Skyrim) and it still happened.

Hello, we understand that you have encountered intermittent black screen issues while using the PG32UCDM. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your feedback.
After our investigation, we have confirmed that the PG32UCDM panel has a built-in protection mechanism. When it detects an abnormal condition, it may activate the protection mode and switch the screen to black. In such cases, you can try turning the monitor off and on again to restore normal operation.
If you are still concerned about this issue or would like to have a more in-depth inspection, we recommend that you send your display to an official service center for detailed inspection by our professional engineers.
If you have a RMA request, please provide the following information via private message so that we can assist you in arranging the subsequent repair process:
