PG32UCDM black screen during game sessions!!

So i am having this issue since the day i bought the monitor.

At first it was happening during a certain game, the callisto protocol.

Now it is happening also in Destiny 2.

As i am playing these games with HDR on,after some time the screen goes black and i have to manually turn the monitor off and on again in order for the image to appear again.

I had at the beggining the factory firmware, after i updated to MCM102 and now i have the 103.

This issue seems to be consistent on all firmwares.

I know it is not related to my windows setup because on the same pc with a different monitor this does not happen.

I have my pg32ucdm connected via dp.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated!!

Wish there was a way to do a survey asking what situations, hardware, and OS version people are experiencing the issues on. I think it would show some interesting information. For instance, I am an outlier, because I am on Linux (CachyOS) but fixed my issue by turning off the VRR setting in KDE Plasma. Matter of fact, I later found out that AMD recommends not running Freesync on the desktop, gaming only, in Linux. With VRR on in the Plasma settings, my monitor's refresh erratically fluctuates and while watching YouTube fullscreen will sometimes black screen. Ever since I disabled, this monitor has been rock solid for months with no incidents to speak of and I have it hooked up via DisplayPort with the best cable that you could probably buy for DP, UHBR20 certified.

Edit:

Made a video of what my monitor does.

I may have fixed the issue for myself. I had to switch the KVM from USB-B (which I had plugged into my pc) to USB-C which isn't plugged in. Or simply unplug the usb hub connection from your monitor to your PC. I think the latest Win11 broke it and it crashes the monitor.

So far the issue has been resolved for me but I'll keep testing.

I appreciate the response. I just received a new Display Port 2.1 40 Gbps Cable from Cable Matters. After I see my next PG32UCDM BSOD, I'm going to give your suggestion a go. I can easily replicate this problem with Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade on PC. I need to figure this out soon. I just started the RMA process..........

I've owned this monitor since April 2024 and only in the last month I started to experience this issue. I also use a high quality cable matters DP cable so the only things that changed since this issue manifested was the Win 11 24h2 update and the latest Nvidia drivers 566.45.

I will continue to test if this fix has permanently corrected the issue but if it comes back, my next step will be using DDU to clean install the Nvidia drivers and possibly roll them back. I do see a lot of people on the Nvidia forums complaining about black screen issues with the latest driver updates but I don't know if they have the same monitor as us or if it is related. I'll keep you posted throughout the week.

I have owned mine since May 2024, with no problems until recently. I also have tried DDU. For what it's worth, the ONLY game that I have this problem with is Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade(Which I am trying to complete before FF7 Rebirth launches on the 23rd. I can not replicate this problem outside of this game. I played FF7RI for 2 hours earlier, after switching to the Cable Matters cable. No problems yet. Usually it only takes 5 minutes to replicate..... I also am using a Hyte Y70T, with a 1100x3840 60hz case display.

I have also replicated this problem on my other system, using my Z13 Acronym and XG Mobile 4090 connected to the PG32UCDM on FF7RI.

For me it occurs in COD Blops6. I have 2 other monitors connected to 4090 FE.

From looking at the Nvidia forums, it seems to be a widespread issue that comes and goes with the last few updates. Unfortunately, there won't be a new driver update until Jan. 30 to see if it gets fixed (5000 series launch).

I'm wondering if having a second monitor connected is a factor. I still have not been able to replicate this issue after replacing the cable.

Additionally since MCM108, my monitor would sometimes go to sleep, and then it doesn't wake up until I remove power cord\re-add power cord.. this is really ridiculous. I
