So i am having this issue since the day i bought the monitor.
At first it was happening during a certain game, the callisto protocol.
Now it is happening also in Destiny 2.
As i am playing these games with HDR on,after some time the screen goes black and i have to manually turn the monitor off and on again in order for the image to appear again.
I had at the beggining the factory firmware, after i updated to MCM102 and now i have the 103.
This issue seems to be consistent on all firmwares.
I know it is not related to my windows setup because on the same pc with a different monitor this does not happen.
I have my pg32ucdm connected via dp.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated!!

The MCM106 is out for a couple of month already. BUT only pre-installed on new units. I gues they changed something and it's only on a newer revision!? and this is maybe the reason, why it's still not out for everyone on their website. But there are conflicting reports if this firmware finally fixed the blackscreen issue. It's sad or lets better say outrageous that Asus is not answering to this and corresponding threads anymore for month. Afaik there is no working fix other than disabling the DSC support on the unit, but of course that's a TRUE dealbreaker, because you disable on of a major features 240hz down to just 120hz. Pretty obvious that nobody can be happy with this kind of "pricey" workaround.

I returned my ucdp. Think im gonna just wait for another nice 34 inch ultrawide to be released and stick with my current Alienware.

Posted to my original comment but wanna paste it here too:
So as an update, I returned the second monitor and opted for a different one, the Alienware aw3225qf curved screen. So far, zero issues with a black screen during gaming sessions. Aside from it being a little dimmer brightness wise than I would prefer, the monitor is running flawlessly. When I tab out of a game it doesn't go into seizures blinking and losing and regaining signal for 15 seconds, no black screens during gaming, no having to pull cables out and plug them back in to get back to a normal screen. I honestly have no idea how these kinds of issues were allowed to move on to market for a $1300 dollar monitor, and aside from those issues the ASUS monitor was absolutely stunning. I love ASUS computer parts and will continue to buy from them, but as for 4k monitors, mine was the UCDP model, I'm probably going to stick to alienware or maybe even samsung for the future.

Except it's a QD-OLED and not W-OLED. I wanted curved but was not interested in QD so I opted for the UCDP.

I ended up returning the first one PG32UCDP, and the second one is coming today. After I set it up I will update. I'm going hold off on doing the firmware update right out of the box like I did on the first one. 🤞

Same issue here, Indiana Jones latest game triggers it, few seconds black screen then back to normal. Other games not so much. Did anyone try optical hdmi cable? Does it help?
