So i am having this issue since the day i bought the monitor.
At first it was happening during a certain game, the callisto protocol.
Now it is happening also in Destiny 2.
As i am playing these games with HDR on,after some time the screen goes black and i have to manually turn the monitor off and on again in order for the image to appear again.
I had at the beggining the factory firmware, after i updated to MCM102 and now i have the 103.
This issue seems to be consistent on all firmwares.
I know it is not related to my windows setup because on the same pc with a different monitor this does not happen.
I have my pg32ucdm connected via dp.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated!!

I got the screen close to launch day and this just started happening to me in the new COD. I have been using the same settings and never really changed much. HDR 400 at 240hz with a 4090. Its strange that only with this title I started seeing this. I deleted the calibration profiles to see if that could be the culprit, but i doubt it.

The highest rating on fiber optic cables is 40gbps that I have seen. I purchased the only VESA certified cable for DP 2.1 80gbps to see if it makes a difference and will let everyone know if it helps.
Note, if you get this cable, it is only 3.3ft! Please make sure it will be long enough for your setup. It barely was long enough for mine.

Just a heads up even if you buy 2.1 DP40 or DP80. Since the connectivity of the monitor is just 1.4 you will be only using approx
Maximum total bandwidth : 32.40 Gbit/s same as any other 1.4DP.
Maximum total data rate : 25.92 Gbit/s same as any other 1.4DP.
(Quality could be better but the bandwidth should be the same as any 1.4)
Which is why I would recommend using an hdmi cable since the connectivity is 2.1
Maximum transmission bit rate : 48 Gbit/s
Maximum data rate: 42.0 Gbit/s
Will you use the full 42/48 probably not but it will be there if needed. ( Actually at 240Hz DSC you might)

Any HDMI 2.1 cables that are better than others? I am using DP I thought that was the only way to get 4k 240hz with DSC.

I don't believe so. Most likely just brands and quality control.
Usually I stick with reputable cable brands with certifications. All HDMI 2.1 should be able to carry the same bandwidth within a margin error If I'm not mistaking.
Yeah HDMI 2.1–2.1b can and should be able support just fine
240Hz with DSC
144Hz Without DSC
at 4K
Edit: If the display would have had 2.1 DP connectivity then a DP80 cable would most likely be a better choice.

Annoying to still have no news here. Guess we're all waiting on the devs and a proper solution which will come up with a new firmware update for example.

My guess Asus doesn’t give a f*** about the issue

Hey guys,
Just an FYI, I had daily black screens, don't know what / how, but since the 105LOG version (you have to ask for this). I had NO NO NO, black screens.. Just back from a LAN party, played all weekend, NO black screens anymore.
For the ones that have it, PLEASE ask and install this version, follow the manual and provide ASUS with screenshots when the black screen happens (the number screen). This is the only way they can see what goes wrong.
I use the provided (ASUS) DP cable connected to my Nvidia 3080TI card.
VRR is ON
HDR=HDR10
Gaming HDR
USB-C = 65W
Power Mode = Standard
Screen Protection
Screen Saver = on
Auto Logo = ON
DSC = ON
HDMI CEC=ON
Good luck guys, hope yours get fixed as well.
