So i am having this issue since the day i bought the monitor.
At first it was happening during a certain game, the callisto protocol.
Now it is happening also in Destiny 2.
As i am playing these games with HDR on,after some time the screen goes black and i have to manually turn the monitor off and on again in order for the image to appear again.
I had at the beggining the factory firmware, after i updated to MCM102 and now i have the 103.
This issue seems to be consistent on all firmwares.
I know it is not related to my windows setup because on the same pc with a different monitor this does not happen.
I have my pg32ucdm connected via dp.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated!!

I've already talked about the black screen issues earlier in the thread, first noticing it while playing the division 2 on my ps5. I never experience it watching YouTube, until today, where it went black on me 3 different times during an 18 minute video. Each time I've had to power it off and back on again, in order to get a picture. At this point, I fully regret buying this monitor. Amazing picture, but these black screen issues are the ultimate killer. I think I'd be better off buying the MSI one at this point. I don't think they'll ever figure it out and release a firmware update to fix it.

I had the same thing happen watching Youtube videos but only if I full screened it. In my case and I suspect in yours, if you pull up the monitor's OSD and check the refresh rate, I bet it was fluctuating randomly like mine. I know I am in a minority here being on Linux but I troubleshooted the reason for the wild fluctuations and it turned out to be the VRR setting in my Plasma 6.1 desktop enviroment. I turned it off and so far have not had any more issues with Youtube videos or black screens but I still have VRR turned on in the monitor's OSD settings and use it playing games via Gamescope with the --adaptive-sync flag. A strange side effect of turning it off in my desktop enviroment was that it boosted my FPS in games by a significant margin, 20-30FPS. Couldn't tell you why but was happy with it. Does Windows have its own VRR setting? Might want to toggle it off and see if that might make things better.
Just throwing this out there but if you watch the video this person posted about his issue, it almost mimicks what happened to me:
GSYNC: How I fixed application flickering & refresh rate issues in Windows 11

Try turning off VRR in the PS5 settings and see if it happens again. I believe what is going on is the refresh is going below a certain threshold, probably below 48hz, which is causing it to happen. Before turning it off, can you go back in the game and pull up the monitor's OSD and see if the refresh is fluctuating wildly and report back if that is the case?

Hey GRTim,
Thanks for the suggestions! I’ve got black screens before with VRR turn off along with other recommendations from Aureliann. My refresh never fluctuates when turning it on in the OSD. I’m trying to turn off DSC on to see if maybe it’s causing issues with PS5..

No problem. Thanks for the reply.

Hey folks,
It's been a week since I got a replacement monitor, and the new one has the same black screen issue as the one I bought back in April (so far it only appears in non-gaming scenarios).
So this is definitely a different revision, which means that Asus has heavily messed up....
I'm still running it on MCM103 firmware.
If you're experiencing a black screen issue with a PC using an Nvidia video card, but only in non-gaming scenarios (like browsing or watching YouTube, etc.), I've found a solution (I'm using Windows 11), set the monitor refresh rate to 120Hz in windows settings (right mouse click => Display settings => Advanced display => Choose a refresh rate) and adjust the refresh rate for games in the Nvidia Control Panel (Manage 3D settings => Program Settings => Select a game => Max Frame Rate).
I haven't experienced the black screen issue in non-gaming mode since I switched the monitor to 120Hz in Windows settings. This morning, I switched it back to 240.02Hz and reencountered the issue, so I switched it back to 120Hz.
Thanks
PS: If you have any specific test scenarios in mind that you want me to test, just let me know.

Hey InvestigatorX,
Thanks for the insights and recommendations for PC and I’ve for some reason haven’t had a black screen on PC for some time but I get them all the time of PS5 and I figured a replacement wouldn’t do anything. Sucks we spent so much money on this and so many of us have problems and they can’t replicate the issue.

I have the same problem in non-gaming... what was you refresh rete before you changed it to 120Hz?
Mine was 59.997hz (coz i didn't even know about this option) and i still have black screen like once a day.
MCM105 with lenovo legion 5 trough usb-type C, also have keyboard connected to the display.
I have heard somewhere that this issue can be because of connected peripherals though display, but i have not tried this yet coz i have a lot of peripherals and not enough ports in the laptop

I want to thank you mate, this fixed it for me, until we have a soft update.
I was returning my unit with all the pain from my heart and now I can live with this windows limitation.
