So i am having this issue since the day i bought the monitor.
At first it was happening during a certain game, the callisto protocol.
Now it is happening also in Destiny 2.
As i am playing these games with HDR on,after some time the screen goes black and i have to manually turn the monitor off and on again in order for the image to appear again.
I had at the beggining the factory firmware, after i updated to MCM102 and now i have the 103.
This issue seems to be consistent on all firmwares.
I know it is not related to my windows setup because on the same pc with a different monitor this does not happen.
I have my pg32ucdm connected via dp.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated!!

Hi all,
thank you for providing the information.
Currently, our backend team is still investigating the replication issue. Based on your description, we understand that the problem occurs sporadically, rather than consistently.
In order to determine whether the issue is a hardware or software problem, could you please assist us by enabling the FPS feature in the game?
When the black screen issue occurs, does the FPS value still appear on the screen?
Or does the entire screen turn black without displaying the FPS?
Enable FPS:
OSD/Gaming/GamePlus/FPS Counter/Number
During the investigation process, if possible, could you provide us with a video of the black screen issue for our reference?
Having a video will allow our team to have a more detailed understanding of the situation in which the problem occurs.
Thank you for your assistance.

I'm angry. I just bought the PG32UCDP and on first day I flashed to MCM103. We are second day and I can't even finish typing this that I experiece black screens every now and then and it's driving me crazy. Now I just found this thread which is 40 pages long! Clearly I'm not alone with this very frustrating issue! Yes very frustrating because first time I pay a premium (here another black screen, 20 seconds) and also the fact I bough from US while I'm in Canada and I don't want to deal with getting a refund so my only hope is that at the end of those 40 pages that a fix is present. Also I'm not sure I want to read (another black screen) all pages.

Hey there,
I have had this issue since April, and there has been no resolution from Asus.
I only have a workaround for you - reduce your monitor's frequency to 120 Hz and manage higher refresh rates in the Nvidia Control Panel for each game or application, assuming you are using a Windows machine + Nvidia graphic card.
I still recommend returning it if possible.

So, you bought a new batch, didn’t even check the current fw version, then flashed an ancient revision that might not even be compatible, and now you’re angry on the internet that it works worse?
Am I getting this right?

No you got this wrong, I have the PG32UCDP and latest firmare is MCM103 according to https://www.asus.com/us/supportonly/pg32ucdp/helpdesk_bios/
Is there a specific thread for the P model? Whatever it seems to be the same issue.

Now its bad to the point where competitive gaming is not fun any more.... but the visuals are to die for lol .....hopefully an update fix soon ....thank you

I did another firmware flash to test variances between flashing with SDR as default and testing both SDR and HDR after the firmware flash. If you flash with the latest firmware. The video display will turn off and then turn off after 3 seconds. Now, if you turn Windows 11 to HDR, the display will NOT turn off, and the proximity sensor works.
MCM103 can cover any past FW version
MCM103 can be updated from all previous firmware versions, including 302, 102, 301, and 101
Bugfixes:
1.Resolved the issue where enabling HDR would deactivate the screen protection. (this is now the issue is reverse; the screen turns off when Windows is set to Non-HDR content land Proximity sensor set to High)
Hope this helps in providing more details in fixing the firmware. Whatever content is displayed from SDR and HDR triggers the display to turn off.
