So i am having this issue since the day i bought the monitor.
At first it was happening during a certain game, the callisto protocol.
Now it is happening also in Destiny 2.
As i am playing these games with HDR on,after some time the screen goes black and i have to manually turn the monitor off and on again in order for the image to appear again.
I had at the beggining the factory firmware, after i updated to MCM102 and now i have the 103.
This issue seems to be consistent on all firmwares.
I know it is not related to my windows setup because on the same pc with a different monitor this does not happen.
I have my pg32ucdm connected via dp.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated!!

Both DDC/CI and VRR are off.
Firmware MCM105.
The persistent black screen issue has been ongoing since April.
We already have 16 pages in this thread, with users reporting the same issue. However, Asus has encountered challenges in replicating the problem. It seems that they might be unwilling to admit the defect in this monitor and issue refunds.
Is it feasible to pursue legal action against Asus for selling a high-priced monitor with known defects or for not taking appropriate measures to address the issue?

A update from me
disabling DDC/CI didn’t fix the problem. Actual there was no different. But, I disabled the proximity sensor. Since that I had no black screen issues anymore. It seems there is no major solution. Every user has his own problems. I using the monitor for two systems. A intel based system and a AMD based system. I got only black screen issues on the intel based system.

Update: my previous post was about the time it happened when playing Destiny 2. Now, it has happened again. This time I was watching YouTube. I might have an idea why it happens but obviously no idea if it is consistent with everyone else's experiences. The exact moment it happened, was when the video transitioned to a darker scene. So most elements on the screen were darker than the frames before it, about 85%, however elements in the middle of the scene were more colourfol or not dark at all. But maybe those colours do not matter at all and just the sudden swap to a scene with a lot of dark pixels triggers something in the monitor which causes it to black out.
No idea if this is actually the case. I am curious as to other people's experiences when their monitor blacks out and during what kind of scenes. But at least the problem is consistent that it does not only appear during gaming, but during normal web browsing and watching YouTube as well.

I posted something similar with two games when there's flashing white images, like a flashbang, and it blacks out. Someone else had the same issue with black outs in similar conditions. Not sure if it's related or coincidence because I get black outs in Cyberpunk, First Descendant, and Doom Eternal and the screen weren't changing brightness. Or they did but it wasn't the whole screen, just enough of it to trigger the black outs.

Well, it just happened to me again, black screen. It's incredible that after so many hours of playing after updating to the latest version on June 26, I thought it was fixed and now it happens again.
In previous messages we have all told our experiences but I don't see that they give us any real solution, after so much time.
I have to say that I had a dark transition while playing and I think it must be something related to DDC/CI, I had it activated along with VRR.

As I said before, the black screen has returned but I just discovered in which game and situation the black screen always occurs to me. I was replaying some missions for an achievement and it has happened to me up to 4 times.
Game: Goldeneye
Xbox Series X
Firmware MCM105
VRR and DDC/CI enabled
Attached video:
It always happens to me when I die and the red image of losing the game appears, right there the image signal is lost. I have another video as well and as we have already said, the game works, the command monitor works, what's more, in the video you can see how I press OSD commands and accidentally deactivate the VRR and that is what makes it work again and the screen turns on again. Then I turn the VRR back on.
Please, update on the situation, is work being done to fix it? Any hope?

Looks like another case of flashing white image follow by a signal loss. I'm going to try turning off VRR when I get a black screen again and see if that turns it back on.

Anyone who has RMA'd the monitor for this issue, did the RMA fix it? I've relegated this monitor to a secondary monitor since I've gotten the black screen when playing COD MW3 in HDR a few times with it, and I just wanted to know if RMAing it would fix it.

What exactly is the DSC for? If that's what I think, having it enabled for consoles wouldn't make much sense.
I had it enabled until now, I'll take it off and see.
