PG32UCDM black screen during game sessions!!

So i am having this issue since the day i bought the monitor.

At first it was happening during a certain game, the callisto protocol.

Now it is happening also in Destiny 2.

As i am playing these games with HDR on,after some time the screen goes black and i have to manually turn the monitor off and on again in order for the image to appear again.

I had at the beggining the factory firmware, after i updated to MCM102 and now i have the 103.

This issue seems to be consistent on all firmwares.

I know it is not related to my windows setup because on the same pc with a different monitor this does not happen.

I have my pg32ucdm connected via dp.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated!!

I have this blackout problem started happening last night. I play on PC Helldivers 2 with HDR using a cable from Amazon brand is Ugreen display port cable. I have swapped it to HDMI 2.1 cable  - the one that came with the asus monitor.

I am having the same issue, where the monitor only will turn black everything else will continue to run fine, mid game and during times of constant bright flashing. Is this monitor overheating? I have proximity set off, and a very expensive DP cable from Microcenter that only like 5ft, so its none of those things or windows as windows continues to run and the game fine. Tomorrows my return policy cut off, will probably return the unit and pick it back up when the kinks are out

I used DP cable at first and I keep getting blackout like every 1o-15 minutes playing Helldivers 2 in HDR. I haven't tried non HDR though. Other game like DCS in non-HDR is fine with DP.  Then I switched to HDMI 2.1 cable that came with this monitor and I did not get anymore black outs.

This happened to me once during the weekend, was playing The Callisto Protocol in HDR then suddenly the monitor turned black, had to restart the monitor.

Hi all!! So far I haven’t gotten the black screen again and it’s been maybe over a week+ or so and my theory is it’s the screen saver feature randomly putting the monitor to sleep hence black screen? or display/HDMI cable length being to long and has something to do with bandwidth? Anyway, turning off screen saver and using the shortest HDMI or DP might be a workaround if you all want to try it as well.

I am going to disable screen saver to see how it will go,i already tried different cable.

Today i was playing a pvp match in Destiny 2 and happened again in the middle of the fight..

I don't have a screensaver or screen timeout set in Windows and it's still happened. I'm RMA'ing my unit for another reason (KVM/USB issues) but when I get it back, I'll still be using the same cables (HDMI, Power...) so it might help determine if it's the unit or firmware/config related.

Get us posted about the new monitor when you receive it..

Also having this issue, been having it since I bought it. Attempted swapping cables, updates all hardware drivers and firmware.

One thing I've noticed is it happens a lot more when dragging applications from my side monitor over to my main monitor. Or when I alt+tab discord or a browser over the game I'm playing. Its almost like the monitor gets overwhelmed and does a quick power cycle. Sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't. Its happened when I'm not gaming and when gaming. I figured everyone was having this issue and I've been waiting on a firmware update.....
