When I put my pc on standby I will see the chin flash orange 5 times after 5 minutes but this does not occur on my macbook pro m1 connected via usb c after 5 minutes. I have set the USB hub is on during standby but this being off and on doesn't seem to affect the automatic pixel cleaning

Hi @asus_rog_user ,

Regarding the issue of the automatic pixel refresh function of your PG32UCDM monitor not working on your MacBook Pro M1, we would like to confirm the following:

  1. Driver compatibility: The display driver for your MacBook Pro M1 may not be fully compatible with the monitor's automatic pixel refresh function. We recommend that you go to the ASUS official website or Apple's official website to download and install the latest version of the display driver.
Ensure that the DisplayPort or HDMI cable of the monitor is a high-quality certified cable. Low-quality cables may affect signal transmission and cause malfunctions.
  2. System setting differences: The power management settings of your MacBook Pro M1 may be different from those of a PC. Please check the power settings of your MacBook Pro M1 to ensure that the monitor does not enter deep sleep mode when it is in standby. If it enters deep sleep, the automatic pixel refresh function may not be able to start.
Please make sure that the USB-C port of your MacBook Pro M1 has sufficient power supply. If the power is insufficient, it may affect some functions of the monitor.
  3. Monitor firmware version: The firmware version of the monitor may need to be updated. Please go to the ASUS official website to download and install the latest monitor firmware (MCM105). ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM | Gaming monitors|ROG - Republic of Gamers|ROG Global (asus.com)

We recommend that you try the following steps:

  • Check USB-C port power supply: Try using the original USB-C charger and cable.
  • Update monitor firmware: Go to the ASUS official website to download and install the latest monitor firmware.
  • MacBook Pro M1's macOS version: Different macOS versions may have different compatibility issues.
  • Displayport: Try using a different DisplayPort or HDMI port.
  • Other connected devices: Temporarily remove other devices connected to the display to see if it affects the automatic pixel refresh function.

If the above steps still do not resolve the issue, we recommend that you contact Apple's official support team to inquire about power settings and confirm any related issues.

Thank you.

Providing detailed device specifications (MB/CPU/GPU/PSU, etc.) and the respective driver versions, OS version, and BIOS version will help us analyze the issue more effectively.

Hi, I actually saw the PG32ucdm go on Pixel Clean on my mac when it went to standby but it was not after 5 minutes. I by so chance had it on standby and was just passing by my desk when I saw it go flash orange 5 times. I am not sure why that is.

  1. Driver compatibility: The display driver for your MacBook Pro M1 may not be fully compatible with the monitor's automatic pixel refresh function. We recommend that you go to the ASUS official website or Apple's official website to download and install the latest version of the display driver. (There is no driver for mac)
Ensure that the DisplayPort or HDMI cable of the monitor is a high-quality certified cable. Low-quality cables may affect signal transmission and cause malfunctions. (yeah its high quality, I've tried several cables)
  2. System setting differences: The power management settings of your MacBook Pro M1 may be different from those of a PC. Please check the power settings of your MacBook Pro M1 to ensure that the monitor does not enter deep sleep mode when it is in standby. If it enters deep sleep, the automatic pixel refresh function may not be able to start. asus_rog_user_0-1723451042253.pngasus_rog_user_1-1723451058756.png

  3. I am using MCM105
Please make sure that the USB-C port of your MacBook Pro M1 has sufficient power supply. If the power is insufficient, it may affect some functions of the monitor.
  • Check USB-C port power supply: Try using the original USB-C charger and cable. (Yes I did)
  • Update monitor firmware: Go to the ASUS official website to download and install the latest monitor firmware. (monitor is on mc105)
  • MacBook Pro M1's macOS version: Different macOS versions may have different compatibility issues. (Sonoma 14.5 latest)
  • Displayport: Try using a different DisplayPort or HDMI port. (no point if I use a displayport as I want to use the usb c charging of the monitor)
  • Other connected devices: Temporarily remove other devices connected to the display to see if it affects the automatic pixel refresh function. (have tried doesn't seem to make any diff)
