Model: PG27UCDM
FW: MCM105
Connection: HDMI 2.1 cable included with the monitor
GPU: RTX 4090
OS: Windows 11 25H2
I experience black crush on this monitor in SDR on Gamma 2.2 (this isn't an issue in HDR).
No calibration applied at the OS or GPU driver level. The monitor OSD reports dynamic range as FULL.
This is based on two tests (at 2.2):
Lagom: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php
Rtings: https://www.rtings.com/images/test-materials/2015/101_Brightness.png
On the Lagom LCD black level test I can only barely see box #5 (expected to be able to see to #1 or #2
On the Rtings black level test I can only barely see bar #20 (expect to be able to see #17 or #18
On Gamma 1.8, this seems to be better:
Lagom: I can barely see box #2
Rtings: I can barely see bar #18
My understanding is that the target gamma SHOULD be 2.2, so I'm concerned about the level of black crush I'm seeing.
My concern is that there is something wrong with the panel, or is this normal for QD-OLED panels at a 2.2 gamma?
